The 2010 MGoWar Holiday MGoArmistice

Submitted by jhackney on

Hello Comrades,

I am writing to you today to make a plea for the laying down of our armed keyboards and missle delivering mice. I made a post a day or two ago that may have been buried in a long thread.

The RR/JH debate has spiraled into recruiting fights, anger at the cloak wearing Dave Brandon, the Michigan Robot scandal, and all around ultra-sensitivity to threads gone awry. I wish to share it again and hope that this holiday season and thread brings compliments, praises, Michigan football photos, strategies to beat the evil Bulldogs from Favrissiippi, remembering why we are all here in a place where maize and blue drip from every hyperlink, and being thankful to the wonderful forum in which we can allow ourselves to escape the harsh realities of work and society. Intellects do your things, MGoComedians do your thing.

The time? Four days before Christmas 2010. The place? MGoBoard. It has been months of the most devastating warfare in Michigan blog history. New posts were used with sarcasm, vitriol, nuclear warfare, and facepalms. The negging and bombing was horrendous and yet there was a call between RR, JH, and Hoke supporters to cease fire and they crawled out from behind their computers to peacefully celebrate the Gator Bowl. They sang Hail to The Victors, exchanged lol catz, posbanged each other's posts, posted funny pics, and buried their hatchets. This peace would last through New Year's Day. In the following weeks, hundreds would be negged in to Bolivian until a new leader was crowned. The next year, they would be united against the enemies of good once again.

A man can dream, a man can dream.

I for one am ready for the bowl game so that maybe some of this crap goes away. But then again, no matter what happens, people will still complain and ask for someone's head. I for one appreciate the thought of stopping some of this, at least for a while. But you will always have someone that brings it up and starts a war.

Jhackney, I am with you and I'm sure some others are too, but this may be a failed operation.

Then it will be argument about something that has happened instead of speculative arguing.  I find that to be the worst.  I mean, either way someone will be happy and someone won't.  At least (hopefully) DB will give some insight into his decisions and we can discuss the future/ criticize his reasoning. Not just criticize decisions he hasn't made and/or speculate as to what his thinking is.

Just different visions of the future. But I think the South has had poor leadership, especially the Defense Minister that was recently fired for not responding to the shelling from the North last month. He must have been playing with GERG's Beaver or trying to run the 3-3-5 or something.

My strategy is to try to be as apathetic as possible about the administration aspects of the program 352 days of the year. I get frustrated about it if it affects the product on the field. When they're not playing, I support them unless they're hurting the student athletes.

I am heading to London on Christmas day with my family and won't be back in country until about 5:00pm on January 1st.  Yes trip booked WAY before football season even started.

So I'm going to have to leave you guys to win the bowl game and settle this whole CC crap on your own next week.  So you can count me in on the truce Hackney.....I won't be here to fight!

I'm flying back on New Year's day on one of the new 777's I think.  I've heard they have live TV on board and if so I plan to have my own intercontinental Gator Bowl party somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean that day.  I'm going to pack my Michigan gear and wear it in London so we'll see how many fellow Wolverines I encounter in the bars....errr....I mean "tourist areas" that week.
