2009 UM hype video hailed as scientifically perfect
I admit, it always brings a tear to my eye. Been a pretty good week for getting some MGoPublicity.

Sadly it was so good we've given up every attempt to make another.

Hands down, this hype video won all the awards, and will be hard to pass.
Also, it makes me pine for MINOR RAGE!!!

That MUST be the title.

Watching him run was the only fun thing about those days. He would try to run over everyone.

That hype video had to use tons of 10- and 20-yard runs to fill the time ... after that, they started becoming commonplace and we'd hardly think to include those in the annual hype video. Thankfully 2008 is over.

in 2009. Nothing would of ruined Sparty's year worse than losses to CMU and UM. Everytime I think of 2009 I think of that MSU game and every time I catch myself screaming DON'T THROW IT TATE. but it happens. The memories. The horrific memories.

and Tate held both his arms ups like a TD signal before the play was run. When the pick was thrown my heart sank. Then I had to put up with a Sparty fan poking me in my chest and another one yelling Tate can suck this on the way out. Had my kid with me so I had to just take it and use it as a teaching lesson in how not to act in victory.

Almost brings a tear to the eye. Its amazing to think how far we've come from that point to now.

It was the perfect video in its time, but it's also just about the last thing I want to watch in 2012 on the eve of the Notre Dame game.

This is the most Amazing yet depressing video. Being at every home game that year, that stretch was the low point in my fandom. But the nightmare is over.

This is easily the best hype video I've ever seen. But man, those were some dark times. And all those special teams mistakes...ugh.

Man… BuzzFeed, to steal a phrase from ESPN, really is Now.
Anywho, it's pretty cool to see something I made hold up this well. Makes me wish I would have taken the time to put one together this year (spoiler: it would have been much less depressing through the A block)

THe "Under All of the Lights" video is pretty stupendously done in the same mold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNm68JMMXXE

....while the footage is great, the song uses the N-word on several occasions. I hope this never becomes a "gold standard" of hype videos.

is "Through Adversity to the Stars". Seems about right at this point.

And this one is a close second. Can't beat for those about to rock.

I think I had literally blocked out most of the memories of that 2008 season. I was watching that video and honestly did not remember a lot of the plays or games shown in it.
Ignorance is bliss

While it probably didn't have the same impact due to being a copy of the 2009 version, I consider the 2010 version to be the gold standard, perhaps because I have better memories of the actual success of the featured players.

Seeing Martin at 2:15 gets me every time.

I think the 2010 version was even better put together and had a more positive moments to choose from. 2009 was obviously the original, but I think in this case the sequel was even better than the original. Both pretty amazing.

Paul Nelson is the guy who put it together, FWIW.

Just my opinion, but I really didn't like that video.
Wow. That really was a great video. Never saw it until today, probably because I was just a semi-regular lurker back then. And even now, the only reason I stumbled across it is that its another slow day on MGoBlog 3.0, a work-in-progress that need A LOT MOAR progress, and out of boredom I just started clicking links on the bottom of the page and found some biographical inyervinte posted several years ago by Six Zero.
Interviews, not "inyervinte". Someday soon (I hope) we'll again be able to edit our own posts...
