2000 Michigan at Ohio

I dont know how many people remember this game because it was so long ago. I cant believe this was the last ime we beat OSU in the horseshoe. This was one of Hensons best games by far. This team had so much potential and probably could have gone undefeated if not for all the injuries. At least they ended on a high note by beating the buckeyes and winning a share of the Big ten title.

You have to select "Old Embed Code" when copying the HTML out of YouTube and then it should work in the actual thread header. Not exactly sure why that is - I would guess that whatever Drupal module runs this portion of the site is not exactly friendly to certain versions of HTML.

the OSU student section that day. I was the only one with a smile. My Wife still contends the only reason I married her was for he student tickets to the '00 and '02 games while she was in undergrad

so was i.  i nearly got my ass kicked.  that day was among the scariest of my life.  when the game was over and i was leaving the stadium, kids were throwing full beer cans at the heads of people wearing michigan clothing.  i got hit in the back with one.

Bellisari (sp?) just had about the worst outing a QB could have. Not to mention the fact that our defensive backfield was locking down everything that ran. Tons of fun to watch those 90s-early00s games

One thing that was obvious about that UM team...we had a lot of guys from outside the midwest.  All of our offensive skill players were not from the mid west...Terrell, Thomas, Henson, & Walker all from out of the region.  Even the offensive lineman 3/5 are not from the midwest...Backus, Hutchinson, & Goodwin.  Only really the defensive lineman are midwest guys, and they were the weakness of this team.  The LBs...Coleman & Hobson are not regional guys.  The DBs...Whitley & Patmon are not regional (Howard & Curry are).  But overall, way more guys are not from the mid-west compared to today's roster.  Many more guys from TX, CA, VA, and FL.

But to add to your point, we've been really good at recruiting nationally since I've been following them in the mid-80s.  Toomer, Hayes, Todd Collins, Jarret Irons, Griese, Brady, and on and on and on.  I don't think we have the success of the 80s, 90s and early 00s without those guys.

This team was another one of those that completely underachieved. As much as I want to blame injuries the loss to Purdue and NW had nothing to do with it. Both games we led comfortably and then just let them get away. I still think this was the best overall offense Lloyd ever coached

Henson didn't play in that game and Navarre played his ass off if it wasn't for a few mistakes can't believe I forgot that game. This team was literally 3 plays from playing for a national championship. Sigh
