I'll never forget watching that play happen and rewinding and rewinding it after cause I used to VHS record everything.

Me too. I saw it at the stadium then I watched it on tape a few dozen times. I would tape every big game and I still have all those tapes. I think the first one was Michigan-OSU 1986, the Harbaugh guarantee game.
I can watch historical games on Youtube now, but the coolest thing about the tapes are the old commercials and newsbreaks. There's a rumor that Germany may reunite.

....to launch an organic Heisman campaign. No billboards on Times Square necessary (I'm looking squarely at you, Joey Harrington/Oregon).
I'm so happy to have witnessed this catch as a student. I'm so sad to have also witnessed the MSU mugging of Howard in the end zone. Sigh.

with Persa this year. Seems to me they were just trying to get attention, esp since he is yet to appear in a game

I will never forget that...

is with my Dad watching that game and both of us jumping up and down and shouting at how excited we were. We re-created the scene last Saturday night 20 years later. THIS is why I love Michigan football!

Notre Dame got Denarded.
Again.
September 14th, 2011 at 3:58 PM ^
Fun fact: Denard has now not only recorded the greatest single-game rushing performance (258 yards) in the history of the Michigan-ND rivalry, but has also recorded the greatest single-game passing performance (338 yards).

They got Denarded sexy in the dark.

I was in grad school at the time, so awesome seats, 45-yard-line. Was with my wife. I remember screaming when he caught it and hugging my wife "he caught it! he caught it! he caught it!". She looked at me and said, "are you crying?!". It was VERY dusty at Michigan Stadium that afternoon.

I was in the MMB, and after watching heartbreak the two years previous, it felt so good to finally get a win over the Irish.

That's a Great picture. But where is the pic from the girl kneeling down in the endzone?! I hope she remember to take her lens cap off...

If she took that picture, I've never seen it.

Still remember jumping up and down on my granparents' La-Z-Boy watching this on TV, then spending most of the next month diving after footballs in my front yard.
That season was so much fun.

That was my first M game. I was in that end zone, maybe 2/3 of the way up. I remember thinking "Howard has those guys beaten, but the ball is too far in front of him...holy crap, he got it!" It was funny, because right up to that point some guys in front of me were berating Moeller for his conservative play calling.

Not only did we go for it, but we went for it all. What a call, what a play. I remember it like it was yesterday. Still have the SI with the picture on the cover.

Is that Gary Gray Sr on the coverage?
Too soon?

Is wrong because it was Steve Everitt (who showed up on camera last week) who broke his jaw.

My memory sucks. Maybe my first game was against Indiana.

......only in my early teens when that game was on ABC, but I still remember the play and the catch as it was called on the network. Awesome even now.
