I went to the first two games and was curious way there was no fly over during the national anthem? Every other game I have been to has had a fly over. My other question is why do the students never rush the field after a big win like today. I saw a few guys run on the field after the game and they were arrested, if everyone just goes they can't arrest everyone, can they?

seem a little extravagant. They're cool and as a matter of fact I was looking for one today as the anthem ended. Our gov't is tossing sooo much cash away, I'd hate to see more $$ go down the tubes to fly f-18s over sporting ewvents just for effect. BUT I still think they're great and was disappointed it didn't happen today. The students and all other fans are NOT welcome on the field there are signs all around the stadium at the 1st row, saying "Stay off the field". Now if we go 11-0 and then beat OSU, ALL BETS ARE OFF and the field will be stormed!

Flyovers aren't that common, but yeah I would have expected it today with a big game and it being Sept. 12. I personally think rushing the field should be reserved for meaningful osu games. It's more of a championship-celebrating thing to me.

Especially today I'm glad we didn't rush since ND hasn't proven themselves to be that good. And we don't really have a reason to rush anymore since the players come right over to the students afterwards. But if we beat OSU for any kind of championship, we will rush.

esipp, I understand your sentiments. But the only game that I've seen at MStadium that I believe to be more important than today's was UM/OSU in 1997. And this was BEFORE my old housemates and I drained a few gallons of sangria at Dominic's to compare notes. Should ND lay a total egg this season and we have a 4- or 5- win season, I might remember this differently. But there can't be too many fans out there (at least that didn't get showcased as the 1964 Big 10 Champ team) that can remember getting heaped on by so...much...crap. All I could think about in the last :11 seconds was sitting in those same seats during the Oregon game 2 years ago. Forget AppState; it was the utter pounding we took from Oregon that left me deeply disturbed and unsure about the fate of our program. That game was a wake up that things were NOT right. That wasn't Donovan McNabb coming into our House in '98 and shredding us with his world-class abilities. Oregon was a coach and a system and some very good athletes that just would not stop leaping off the top turnbuckle and elbow dropping us into submission. At that time I felt as if Rome burned around me. Today banished those demons. Today showed that another visionary coach, anchored in his belief in a method of coaching players and instilling a system, was again at our helm. For much of my life I had lamented the fact that I had missed the greatness of being at Michigan in Bo's early years and watching that man create the program I loved. Today, I felt that I was "in" on the ground floor of another amazing span of Meeeeechigan football history. This is going to be a great ride. So, yeah, I was waiting for the students to rush the field. My old, fat ass is done running onto fields!

I thought about it too, but somehow it seemed not right yet. If we beat OSU this year, it will definitely happen. Maybe even for PSU if we are undefeated. Somehow doing it today seemed like we would jinx things.
