2 Minute Drill with James Rogers:

Somebody might be able to make a case that James Rogers has been a bigger, better surprise than Denard.

Whichever is the "better" surprise doesn't matter to me.  James Rogers is playing like a Big Ten corner.

Sounds like a well spoken and great kid.  I'm happy that he's getting his chance.

It's funny but in the days before the Internet, or before blogs and/or recruiting services like Scout and Rivals, we would have shown up to the stadium on Sep. 4 and thought "Oh Michigan has a senior filling in for DWarren, we'll totally be fine at CB."

Not to be negative, but just shows further why underclassmen transferring based on depth chart issues sucks.  Rogers stuck it out, and is contributing both as a senior AND at a position he wasn't recruited for.

Good for him.

Rogers has been very solid.  A lot of people before the year started figured he would be a big time liability and he has been nothing of the sort.  He is a well spoken individual and a heck of a person on and off the field.  Looking forward to him continuing to improve and get better on the field and helping this defense lock down opposing offenses.

i do not know what blog it was (maybe it was a comment made in a post game presser).  Rogers mentioned something to the affect of knowing that he was going to come in and play well this year.  however, when Wolfolk went down that event elevated in his mind his call to step up as a leader.  obviously i would prefer both of them to be back there.  sometimes something clicks in someone's mind when an even like this happens and their play jumps to a new level not only because of physical tools but mental as well.  which relates to ThWard's post about Rogers sticking with it in the midst of players leaving.  good for rogers and good for Big Blue football!
