Please tell me we are all going to get an update on your poop schedule as well!
1st Report from Dallas
He never has to poop again since the defensive preview the other day.
Cleared him permanently. Or is that just me?
You are the most annoying, butthurt clown on this site
I'm just sad that I didn't get to hear about what exactly was ordered at Chili's! I hope it was some southwest eggrolls!
At least His Dudeness is mildly entertaining.
Give him a break. If you lived in Wyoming, you would be permanently butthurt too.
Wait, people actually live in Wyoming?
If you call that living.
an insufferable fuck. I can't decide if I internet-hate you or internet-like you for that. Now, armed with that knowledge you can get on with your day.
There is a big difference between a post about the DFW airport, traffic and general tips for the area versus a post about eating at Chili's and watching people buy bottled water. Maybe that is just my opinion however.
it all into one post so I think we can let him off without the snark on this one.
bug spray as well. West Nile problems going on in Dallas right now.
Yep, just had our 13th death from it
Most wont die from it but the severe flu like symptoms dont exactly sound fun.
There have been outbreaks in Michigan, too.
Thanks for the updates, really! We arrive tomorrow morning so the traffic/construction/airport info is very helpful. Any other MGoBloggers flying out of GRR tomorrow morning?
My wife and I are flying out of GR tomorrow afternoon
My sis and I will travel Sat morning from Houston. We will be in Lot 10 to start out, yes!
I concur on other SEC fans pulling for UM. My aggie cousins, my mom & uncle (UK) and some LSU friends all hate Bama.
Private jet Sat afternoon, cocktails en route, picked up by limo at airport, presidential suite at nearby hotel and then Chilis! You know, the good life.
/ wakes up from dream
We will be in line by 9am to ensure we get a tailgate spot. Look for the 7' tall guy with long curly hair..

Warning to those using DFW. Be very careful when leaving via the North Exit. YOU WILL GET LOST unless you brought a GPS and don't mind getting on a few wrong highways.
They are doing crazy construction on the North Exit and the last time I was there I was forced onto the wrong highway because they closed a whole bunch of ramps and forced you onto an exit. I highly recommend leaving via the South Exit. However, you can still reach the airport via the North Entrance although it takes you through a detour on the side roads while they fix the highway.
To those traveling eastbound from DFW, be wary of a highway called 635. Yes it may be the highway in Office Space (in the very beginning) but there is even more construction on 635 than at the Airport. Check google traffic updates if you are planning on using it.
As for DFW, it was designed to have the gates, baggage claims, and parking as close as posssibly together. If you look at it in that light you'll realize you walked like 1000 feet to your baggage claim and if you parked at the terminal, your car is like another 2000 feet away. Watch the signs closely as you drive around as there are a lot of exits in every lane (including the middle one). And yes there is a toll for just driving in but its a dollar so suck it up.
Anyone know roughly what a taxi will cost from DFW to the downtown Sheraton?
ballpark probably around $60-70 if they are using typical Dallas taxi rates. I dunno if its higher leaving from the airport. Thats about like 20 miles which adds up with the meter.
of you right now....god speed out there.
Also for those of you in Dallas and looking for things to do...

thats the first place I'm going to friday night once my friends fly into town...
meh. The only good thing about the trophy room is the mechicanical bull. Yes it gets rowdy but the uptown is always rowdy on weekends. I like the den next door a little better as each floor is like a different bar. Plus you can't beat the view.
I hate DFW. Note that if you're going to/from Arlington, you're best served using the SOUTH entrance. Rental car facility is on the south side. Avoid following signs to the North entrance. It is one heck of a long drive and you'll just have to drive all the way through again to get to the rental facility.
Also, DFW actually has tolls going into and out of the airport grounds. You get a ticket as you go into the airport itself, unlike most airports where you get a ticket when entering the parking garage. Everyone has to pass through the toll gates to exit the airport. So they make money off you when you're there to just drop someone off without parking.
When returning a car, I made the mistake of going through the North entrance, having to go through the entire airport, and explaining to the guy at the gate on the South side that I was just trying to return a rental car and didn't think I should pay. He said it happens all the time and just let me through without paying.
FYI, Shane Morris is competing in the Grantland Fantasy Island writing/fantasy football competition:
Forgive me as I'm slap happy getting ready to leave for Dallas tomorrow! Woohoo!
warns people that if they aren't paying attention they could get lost. Seems maybe the OP should pay better attention himself.
What are the brothels like in Texas?
Is that really necessary on this site? Why not just google your area of interest, or ask a taxi driver.
I'm not going to the googles when I need reliable info. I'm going where I get the best news first, MGoBlog.
This site is replacing my other Internet news outlets even for OT stuff.
The wife and I just arrived at our hotel this morning and luckily got a early check in after the marathon 14 hour drive to big D. There is a bit of construction going on through Arkansas on 40 (i think thats the correct highway), we blew through it at 4AM this morning but those following may find traffic backed up.
I second the highway system round here, my GPS tells me to keep right and every damn right lane suddenly turns into a Exit only.
should be saying, "Keep right-ish"!
Appreciate the update. Leaving in T-minus-8:15. Can't wait!
Flying in today from New York to meet up with a lot of guys. Fired up ready to go! #Hail
Couldn't you just Apparate?
Like everyone is saying, Construction is Terrible around this time of year ( Too hot in the summer for Construction). 635 is an absolute MONSTER, if your Gps tells you to get on this freeway, STAY AWAY. That goes for anyone staying in North Dallas, Plano, Addison, Garland... Even at night there will be wall to wall traffic
sorry, double post
in case anybody is unaware there IS IN-N-OUT IN FT WORTH NEAR THE TCU CAMPUS. you're welcome.
I didn't catch any of them. This is my only weekend away from my wife&kids who despise BBQ, so don't let me down, boys.
Sonny Bryan's is usually pretty good. Salih's used to be good - I don't know if it's still there, though. I lived there in the early 80's.
in that 100 degrees?
Left Tulsa yesterday and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is everywhere.
Flying to Austin right now where buddy lives, driving up early Saturday, beyond pumped!
I actually think it's one of the best layouts for any of the mega-airports I've been to. Yeah, it's a heck of lot harder to get around than, say, CMH but whe you compare it to the other mega-airports in it's level I think it's boat loads better than LAX, O'Hare, JFK and MIA. I really don't get the tiny little alleyways thing - there are signs everywhere saying which way to what terminal. Now if you came in in terminal A I can understand that - half of it is under construction (yes, it's a theme here in DFW...)
Most all of the road construction is around the airport - once you get south of it and off of 183/121/114 you should be good to go although you're still going to deal with traffic depending on where you are and which way you'll be going as it relates to traffic. ALWAYS check the traffic before you leave to go anywhere - a wreck on a major highway and kill an hour easily...
Sunscreen? What's that?? It's too hot to be outside! ;)
Please chant that
I attended a conference in Dallas a while back, and the travel information provided by the conference actually included this warning: "For your return flight out of Dallas, please arrive at DFW an hour earlier than you would normally arrive for a domestic flight at any other airport."
Went to this restaurant in Fort Worth last month and got the brisket tacos and they were in the top 3 things I've eaten in my life. Highly recommend.
O'Hare at 11:50 am? I cannot wait! Go Blue!
Stuck In Ohio 2 reccomended Joe T Garcia's in Ft Worth as a destination for authentic Tex-Mex. Our group hit Joe's tonight and the reviews are universally positive. Only two mains, either encheladas or fajitas but we wobbled out of there very impressed - guacamole like you have never had before. No reservations unless a group of 20 or more but plenty of parking just south of the StockYards complex. Not as fancy as it looks on the website and a big casual patio flips no problem. GO BLUE!
