What an odd thing it is that a university that has featured scholarship athletics for over 100 years has, so far, had its "25 best" all play in the past 5-10 years. It's almost like all the voters were 25 years old or younger.

I guess we'll see how it turns out. I'll bet you anything that athletes that played VERY recently are massively over-represented. I can think of 11 basketball players off the top of my head better than Burke: Russell, Bunting, Wilmore, McGee, Green, Grant, Mills, Rice, Weber, Rose and Howard. And we haven't even started into football or hockey, baseball, swimming or track.

Whoa...I havent seen this in a couple of days.  Michael Phelps is the 21st best athlete in Michigan history, even though he mutilated every swim record known to mankind and with longevity that is unsurpasssed.  Crack is bad.  Please stop.

It's a poll of a couple hundred members of a message board, some of whom didn't read the full post and only voted for football players because it's that time of the year. Not to mention a lot of people don't really consider Phelps a "UM athlete" since he never competed for Michigan and he never got a degree from the school. (smh if Jeter--who never enrolled--is on this list.)

In other words, chill.
