1997 Michigan vs Ohio
Its the eve before Michigan-Ohio St and i thought i upload the 1997 game. Michigan was #1 in the AP poll taking on the #4 Ohio St. It was great way to end an undefeated season Michigan first in 50 years. Charles Woodson capped his Heisman Trophy campaign in this game. A punt return that was oddly similar to Howards return and an interception in the endzone to stop an Ohio St. drive sealed the game. Michigan would go on to win a share of the national championship after beating WSU in the Rose Bowl. GO BLUE!!!

were tired of losing, after a couple of 8-4 seasons........If they only knew how bad it could get.

I was at that game. By far, the best sporting event of my life. I couldn't have had a better view of the interception in the end zone. Just an amazing day. Still can't forget the security on the field after the game tackling people as they rushed out of the stands. We get down on the program after the last 6 or seven years, but lets remember this is Michigan. We could have had another one in 2006 and we had some pretty good years between 97 - 06. We will be back.

If I am not mistaken, the Woodson punt return came with about 4 minutes to go in the second quarter, in the event anyone would like to skip ahead a little bit. I wouldn't, however, as I witnessed this one in person (sophomore year) and I still count it as one of my favorite games.

Remember seeing the blocking line up for Woodson to run down the OSU (they were OSU back then) sideline. And the final block by LeAndre Brown (back-up DB who had one big play in his career) on OSU's punter to spring Woodson for the TD. I've never heard noise like that before or since. Maybe the INT at end of 2011 Ohio game.
The only reason to be nervous was that we had screwed their seasons in '93 and '95 and '96. Was glad we had Woodson and Griese to prevent a reversal. Griese played a smart game, other than one fumble on a sack.
At least during that 4-loss run of seasons ('93 thru '96) we had 3 wins over OSU and 2 over Sparty. Not like these days.

Such a huge win and those players all came up big!
Rewatching that game I forgot how beat up the team was. LT Backus didn't play, adami was playing injured and quite immobile. Howard was out, streets was battling a hammy. Forgot all about that........ Reminds me of how good they were to keep overcoming everything. On offense, overcame some bad turnovers and field position the 2nd half. Got enough points with limited offense and still won. Defense just took over that game!

when my sister and I were saying "just run three times, chew up 2 minutes, and punt the damn ball" - Our D was playing so good, except for the one bomb to Boston and the one drive that ended up in Woodson's arms in the student EZ.

I remember watching that game with my mom and my older brother. When Woodson took that punt return to the house the mailman was at the mailbox putting the mail inside. We yelled so loud we scared the bejesus out of him! Good times.

It wasn't our first undefeated season in 50 years. We also went undefeated in 1973 (10-0-1) and 1992 (9-0-3), and in the 1971 regular season (11-0). It was, however, our first national title in 49 years.

we could have had a chance to flatten Nebraska. There is no doubt in my mind we would have throttled them the same way we beat that offensive point machine Washington State, which I believe averaged 30+ points a game. Their recievers were unstoppable, blah, blah, blah.
