No matter how it turned out for Brady Hoke, this is something he can be proud of.

There were 50 Academic All-B1G selections in Hoke's 4 years.

to RRod, Carr? just curious

There were 27 under RR and 120 under Carr. Both of those come out to an average of 9 Academic All-B1G selections a year.
In Hoke's 4 years, Michigan averaged 13 per year.

Of course, Beyer and Burzynski (maybe Kerridge) are RR recruits (actually, Burzynski and Kerridge were walk-ons FWIW). Presumably some of the guys credited to RR are LC recruits - unless you adjusted for that.

Congratulations to these players! I can't imagine the stress of trying to spend 40+ hours a week on football in addition to full-time coursework. They should be proud, on the field and off.

Congrats to our guys and gals. Looking at the list Iowa has a graduate program called Leisure Studies - WTF is that?

You study at your own leisure. Probably a philosophy degree at heart.

Congrats on being leaders on the field and in the classroom.

I do question how some of these schools handle grading, as Rutgers somehow has nearly the same number of selections as Northwestern and over double UM's. Rutgers is a decent enough school, but yeah, not sure if they have a team full of intellectuals.

Looks like #126 in USNews and world report best colleges, so, not good (according to USNews). Very good question. I bet it's grade point related. You probably couldn't do actual comparisons based on how competitive your University is.

Michigan's football players also come to "play school".

BTW - your points show up as a link on my device. When I click I get a pop-up "Would you like to dial this number". WOW - seven MGoDigits!

Always great to see our team actually has STUDENT-Athletes.

Am I the only one to notice that most schools have more players on the list than us for football?

Congratulations to all of these guys! What an accomplishment!

competed in the classroom and on the field. They are all winners. And thank God, we had a great coach who appreciated that. I really mean that. If Brady had just made his sons better at winning games, we'd be pushing him for all kinds of coaching accolades and not going through this current process.
Matt Wile is a legacy student whose dad went to Michigan. Several of these guys are getting it done in engineering and economics majors. I don't give a damn whether you think these guys get special treatment, the fact that they are posting 3.0's and above in those majors, hats off to them.
Color me proud as a fan of this program and university for sending the message that succeeding at academics is important, and we care that you achieve, and how hard that is given their schedule and commitments. Few of us, can even comprehend what goes into achieveing that.
I see Dymonte Thomas, a five-star is an an academic all-star as well. Well done.
