I came across this video of 2011 instate RB Justice Hayes hurdling 3 players at once. Something even the great white hype never did.
From Portage Northern.
Is UM recruiting him?
He was at the Michigan camp in early June.
i immediately thought you meant that Hayes got 3 concussions at once.
Wow, that is impressive. Is he the number one RB in the state of MI for the '11 class?
With a name like "Justice" how could he NOT be the #1 RB in his class in ANY state!?!
Honestly though, I have no idea.
Anyone know if he likes Michigan?
Too bad Justice is blind though.
...but only if that is an Arrested Development reference.
a very clear idea if he is after this season, I think.
Right now I'd probably put him in that spot, but a guy like a Jeron Clayton (AA Pioneer) could catch up to him. Clayton would be an excellent fit for a spread offense.......
Clayton will be just one of a few guys I'll profile this week sometime. I'll be covering all the prospects of note in the Big Day Prep Showdown at Rynearson Stadium which takes place Friday and Saturday.
Not fast enough, that guy caught him towards the end zone. Recruit the guy the caught him...I'm half serious by the way for whoever takes me too serious and gets all uptight.
since 1. he was a sophomore so he has time to get faster since football players' potential are usually not realized, 2. the DB has a great pursuit angle on him.
He'll probably be a Spartan...
Isn't that a given seeing as how he's a Mich prospect?
was said of austin white the same time last year
Calibrate sarcasm detector.
he wasn't being sarcastic as he's tim and hayes currently is an MSU lean
That was sexy
who gets recruited. Not sure how he'll be ranked just yet, though. He doesn't have elite speed for a runningback, probably a 4.6 guy. Good agility and vision though. He is a guy who could convert to wide receiver eventually. Going to remind people of Austin White a little bit.
Also if you follow that link to youtube, check out his 2011 teammate QB Ryan Morley.
"Great White Hype?" Seriously?
Austin White was open last year, and people just assumed he'd go to MSU because of his family history.
Hayes is actually an MSU lean.
Then I beg the boards forgiveness for my error. I suggest watching every Lou Holtz segment on ESPN back to back until my eyes bleed, as means of retribution.
his closing speed is impressive
That LG stuffed that DE pretty nicely. DE tried to get position low and just bounced off the guy's chest.
Powers Catholic is notorious for using undersized, but extremely quick, athletes on the DL. You probably noticed the pint sized NT trying to run Hayes down on the sideline. Undersized DE/DT is giving 50 at least, probably closer to 75+, lbs to the LG. That might account for the bouncing off. Anyway, I for one, am impressed by the elite level speed the NT possessed. We should probably recruit him. He can always move to slot, right?
Justice Hayes could well be the top sophomore running back in Michigan. He plays for a Grand Blanc team loaded with young talent, including classmate Ryan Morley, who could be the top sophomore QB in the state and talented Class of 2010 WR Tony Jones. As a reslt, his touches were relatively limited, howev er there is no denying his ability.
Just take a look at this YouTube clip, where he gives his best Sam McGuffie impersonation.
Below is an extract from my database on Justice.
Justice Hayes RB/WR 5′11 168 4.55 Grand Blanc Michigan
One of the top sophomores in Michigan……………Sophomore starter at RB and through 8 games he had 151 carries for 1,082 yards (7.17ypc) and 5 TDs and 20 receptions for 207 yards and 1 TD………..Changed his name from Will McDaniel to Justice before his sophomore season……………..A very quick and elusive RB who has excellent lateral movement and exceptional ball skills. A hard worker and an enthusiastic player. Needs to fill out to be an every down back, but has a lot of upside due to his great speed……………He was impressive at the June 2008 Southwest/Midwest NUC Ultimate 100 in DeSoto, Texas (RB MVP)………….Impressive at the April 27, 2008 Detroit NUC and was invited to participate at the Ultimate 100 NUC
Jumping over people is an overrated skill
a competitive leapfrogger.
For what I expected out of the video, it wasn't that great. It was basically him hurdling one guy on the ground and one guy standing up. Still impressive, but I don't even see the third guy he hurdled, or how it can really be looked at that way. I guess the person that made the vid thought the guy that dove at Justice from behind was being hurdles, but he really wasn't. Whatever, still a good play.
What did you expect? Did you expect three William Gholstons to be standing straight up in a single file line and Hayes to jump over all three?
I've heard that he is a MSU lean, but he will just be a junior this year so we have two years to recruit him.
……..Changed his name from Will McDaniel to Justice before his sophomore season……………
He also clearly lacks high-end savoriness.
Not to overly nitpick, but I only saw him hurdle two players in that clip. Still impressive, nonetheless!
