The Baylor-Kansas game could easily reach 1,000 yards even now with 75% of those yards belonging to the Bears. Even at this point in the game, they are still getting slightly over 9 yards per snap, and of all those yards, 437 of them air are through the air.

No doubt OSU has better and more experienced players than Michigan, but if anything this game just shows how much better OSU coaches at working with their current roster.

OSU has a proven coaching staff at being elite.  We have a proven coaching staff at being good.  It could become elite down the road but we wont know for a few more years when their "elite" recruiting classes turn into upperclassmen.   OSU had all of 3/4s of a year of downtime during Fickell era... not even 1 full class and I doubt they took even a minor hit in recruiting or defections like UM did during RR.  That was 3 full years and a late start on the 2011 class for Hoke.  So to be FAIR he started in more of a hole but I dont like to hear empty cupboard excuses by anyone - it is never empty at UM.  But it is not as OSU's level.  The last 2 classes UM and OSU have gone head to head and it will be up to the coaches to develop players (something potentially lacking at UM for years, incl the end of the Carr era) and get them up to snuff to have similar spectacular showings on TV down the road.  It wont be in 2014 due to our OL and breaking in a whole class of WRs but it needs to be 2015.  Until then the 2010 and 2011 classes (the latter on offense) will continue to haunt.  We just lack depth in the junior and senior classes that other teams have.  I get that some teams play well with freshman and sophomores sprinkled in but it can't be the core of your team.  Our stars are all upperclassmen save for Blake and maybe Funchess slowly becoming one... JMFR, Devin, Gallon.  There is a reason for that.

I will/do root for Michigan no matter what. Win or lose. I believe if we beat STAEE an get through that game healthy then we will be in business. Granted, Ohio has an easier road the rest of the way but the toughness of our remaining games may work to our advantage if we win and stay healthy.

This is a common trend with Michigan fans.

"Look at Team A beating up on Team B.  My GOD, Team A would beat the crap out of us.  Team B would beat us too.  It's really sad too because the only teams with a pulse Team A has beaten are Teams C and D.  We beat Team C already but if we played them again, Team C would destroy us.  We don't play Team D this year but they would kill us too!"

Let's just end the football program today so we never have to watch them again.

They both played Indiana at home, in back to back weeks.

Indiana 28 @ MSU 42 in week 7

Indiana 47 @ Michigan 63 in week 8

While the comments saying "State will KILL us!!!" are insane I don't think they are any more insane than dumping on MSU schedule. It's not as if Michigans is any more impressive.

Nobody is saying that OSU isn't better running the ball than UM; UM has been historically bad for the program for most of the year.  But saying "different days and different games" are minimally relevant (which seems to be the insinuation) is also not fair.  PSU was playing at home, at night, for their biggest game of the year.  This is 2 weeks later, on the road, at night against OSU.  OSU's offense is better than UM's be a fair bit, but at the same time nobody knows how it would look against a competent defense because they really haven't played one save Iowa and Wisconsin (though both have question marks), and in both of those games they struggled to move the ball for large swaths.

I learned from many a contentious MGoBlog thread during the RR era that:

1.  spread offenses will never work in the B1G, because defenses are too physical

2.  running spread will make your defense soft and sucky

Given that Urban runs a spread at Ohio, I assume they must be struggling.  Not only will they have difficulty scoring points, the defense will stink.  Urban, freshen up that CV, you're on the hot seat my man.  Presumably.  I only watch Michigan, so I haven't been following.  Are they sucking really bad, or really really bad?

Maybe it is the Jimmy and Joe's, not the X's and O's.  We fielded the awesome Threet and Sheridan tandem, followed by 2 true freshman RR's first 2 years.  Surrounded by an indept defense.   I think scheme helps but people give too much credence too it, or too much blame.  It can hurt you when for example you run into a wall of defenders 27x a game when you have a bunch of freshman and RS freshman type in your OL so yes dont do stupid things with your scheme but in the end its about talent.

I for one am glad PSU was destroyed tonight because maybe it will make the offensive coach in AA look in the mirror and see what a stupid game plan he had late in that game.  Or if it was Hoke's philosophy maybe he will look in the mirror and see how far we are from where we want to be.

Our 2 rivals were absolutely dominant today and I dont give a damn about who the opposition was - one decimated a team at home and one decimated a team on the road.  We are playing patty cakes with the Akrons and UConns of the world... who by the way was destroyed by U-Central Florida today by 50ish.

You know what I think is really "manball"? It's not running the ball like an idiot into a stacked 8-9 man front 27 times. I think real "manball" is putting your foot on the throat of a team you're better than and crushing them anyway you can from any formation that works.
56-7 is manball.
