Noon kickoff = tailgate that starts around 7:30am
3:30 kickoff = tailgate that starts around 7:30am
8:00pm kickoff = tailgate that starts around 7:30am

It's all about how much time you have before gametime. Noon starts things seemed rushed, 3:30 starts seem just right, last year's primetime start was def too long but because it was UTL I didn't care.
I feel like I have to wait too long for 3:30 games to start. Plus, they completely take out the option of an afternoon nap before going out.
If I'm going to the game I prefer 3:30 starts, so I have more time to tailgate. If I'm watching from home I like noon starts, so I can just hop out of bed, watch Gameday, and then the Michigan game.

Wait until you're old like me; you'll roll out of bed so early on Saturdays that the only things on tv are the farm report and reruns, so you'll have to be satisfied with the internet. The problem there is that the only active thread on MGoBlog at that hour is the Friday night drinking thread.
I feel bad for Brady Hoke in these late game scenarios, because if he doesn't eat until the game is over, I'm sure he'll be a hungry dude on Saturdays this fall.
But Hoke missing a meal or two probably isn't a bad idea.
Jebus... Aside from UTL, every single one of our home games last year had a noon start time.
Western was a 3:30 start.
But seriously, it's crazy how a lot of people (including myself) forget the western game given the extreme weather. We could probably attribute this to UTL and how the season ended.
Western was only 3/4ths of a game, so yes, it doesn't count.
Good. While in general I think 3:30 is too late, noon starts are definitely too early (and yes, I know, TV won't allow a 1:00 start). But I think 3:30 starts are infinitely better for homecoming because there are some events scheduled for that weekend in particular that are cut way too short if the game starts at noon. The last few years, homecoming games have been rushed to start at noon.
Given that so many of you like to pregame every week, I guess I could live with 3:30 every week. Certainly the undergrads (like my son) prefer 3:30. If they can get into the stadium for kickoff, if not for the band show, it is a plus. There really is no excuse for not being there for a 3:30 start.
to do some work, early aft to relax, and a little late afternoon light to play with my kid in once the game's over.

Noon games mean hitting the Michigan bar by 8:30AM to secure my spot.
At least with 3:30 games, I have an off-chance of being productive for part of the day.
For me, the game is enhanced much more with the Sun setting in the 3rd/4th quarter in the height of the action. It also gives your program more exposure on t.v. so what's not to like.
I prefer 3:30 now for personal scheduling reasons, partly due to my central time zone. Back in the day 3:30 meant that I didn't have to get up early and tired, and that tailgates could involve lunch. Alternatively, it gave me a chance to see all of Gameday and catch some of the noon football before heading out to the stadium if I was not tailgating.
For noon games tailgates were a breakfast affair, which actually suited my wife and I pretty well. I use(d) a Coleman Roadtrip grill with griddle attachments, yielding such variety as pancakes, hash browns, bacon, sausage, eggs, and even toast. What I lost with the early action I made up for by getting home in time to actually see the relevant parts of the 3:30 games. This was especially important when the biggest games of the day were late, or when they had real significance to Michigan (Florida's win over Florida State in 1997, for example).
Since it allowed for more football, my vague preference was for noon, but I really didn't care either way.
I shouldn't be writing about tailgating when I'm hungry and not yet able to eat dinner.
...3:30 games are much better as they allow for a full day of A2 activities. When you get to be my vintage, you'll understand.

dont matter what time the game is, I'll be there tailgating bright and early, although I have to admit, i like a variation of noon and 330 games during the season. too many noon starts last year
this will be the 900th win for the Michigan Football program (assuming a loss to Alabama)
Not for every game, but glad to have it for more than just 1 game like we had last year. As a student its much easier to get to the 3:30 games half an hour before kickoff compared with the noon games
If Pioneer is bumping it's price to $50, then it's only fair we get an extra 3 hours tailgate time!
