Tremendous victory. Smot and Hardaway combined 3-18

Props to Morgan, he played very tough down the stretch. And of course they don't win this game without Burke, kid was just fantastic

A win is a win - Minny is a decent team with a good defense.  Thursday's game @ IU should be an interesting barometer for this team - I think Indiana is a bit overrated, but so is UM.  Should be interesting to see how both squads match up.

Last year Michigan opened the Big Ten season losing by 23 to Purdue in Ann Arbor and started off 1-4 at home in league play. So starting off 2-0 in league play is pretty awesome to me. Michigan didn't win their 2nd league game until the Jan. 27 upset of MSU in East Lansing.

But the students cannot get back soon enough. That was pretty near a full house, and I appreciate them coming out in the cold, but good lord. The echo of the blue rage off empty seats might have been louder. Tough, ugly game won on the boards by Morgan and Smotrycz. No help whatsoever from the officials or the home crowd, but they gutted it out. Good job blue.

Crisler was sold out Thursday night but no students and a 20 member high school band was playing The Victors. We won but the atmosphere was poor. The game staff should have piped music in for louder ambiance. Didn't know how much I missed the Maize Rage until they weren't there. Get back soon.

Your wife has a sharp eye. We've seen Belien take similar action with players, (Manny and Darius off the top of my head), so it's not unprecedented. Good lesson for Smot; Don't mess with Coach B. As for IU... I just don't see that happening; it would be a monumental victory.

When Stu and Zack were freshmen preparing to take on Duke coach Beilein told them that if they played 10 times, Duke would probably win 7.  But they only had to beat the odds once.  They only have to beat Indiana once on Thursday.  I'm not saying they're going to win, but I wouldn't bet anything I couldn't afford to lose against them.

From today's post-game(umhoops.com)

On Horford’s progress: “He hasn’t done anything again. We’ll have an update with medical determination later this week. There hasn’t been another MRI.”

Before the Bradley game Beilein really made it sound like Horford was headed for a redshirt.  Last week he said something to the effect of "we'll see how he feels in February".  I'd say tea leaves suggest 80% chance of redshirt.
