#00:Chris Bryant to start new tradition?/ Late Night
I have made a late night, alcohol induced observation. I noticed in Chris Bryants junior year film that he was rockin' the #00 as a lineman. You think Hoke will make it the new #1 tradition? haha In all seriousness though, I have never seen anyone, let alone a lineman rock a #0 or #00 on a football field. Interesting.

Haha Hoke-A-Mania was probably already aware of this tSIO fact, and swiftly told Bryant there will be none of that shit here!

no...its that simple! he wont be wearing #0 or #00 for the next 4-5 years. if he turns into the next jake long and wants to wear it in the nfl he can make that part of his pre-draft #1 overall contract if he wants to but thats not how Hoke is about to start off his first year here.

to wear 0 in the NFL. OL are allowed to wear 50 to 79, any other numbers are prohibited by rule.

The most famous of all Double-0 players was Jim Otto of the Oakland Raiders. The number was originally a play on the two O's in his name. He became a perennial All Pro and was a true iron man having played in 308 consecutive games at center for the Raiders.

I do believe that #0 or #00 are no longer allowed in the NFL, it may be true in college as well.

The NCAA doesn't allow 0 or 00 either. Found the following in the 2009-10 NCAA Football Rules and Interpretations:
Players’ Numbering ARTICLE 2. a. All players shall be numbered 1 through 99. Any number preceded by zero (“0’’) is illegal [S23].

Does anybody know Otto's # when he played for U of Miami (yes, that Miami)? I hope Bryant turns out to have the grit and toughness of Jim Otto but I agree with the poster who says wait for the NFL, not something Hoke should go for.

Who can forget "Old Double Zero" himself, the great Nate Scarborough? He once graced the field at the Polo Grounds, playing for the New York Giants, before becoming one of the most beloved members of the Citrus State Prison.

If we really want a 0 on the football team, why not use the one we've got? Zack might be a little small for O line, but then again he knows how to beat Sparty!
