Tim Beckman treats his players to porridge
"]Some players complained the porridge were too hot, others said it was too cold, but Beckman felt it was just right."

Best line in the story.
So out of curiosity, NCAA allows them to give players steaks, but they're not allowed to give cream cheese with bagels? Or are they just different things on some weird food spectrum?
laughing stock material
I really don't understand all the hostility towards Becks at illinois via that comment section? I go to Toledo and can honestly say I was uset that he left because he was by far the best coach we have had in the 14 years or so since I started following football (granted that covers the Pinkel, Toledo Tom, Becks and now Campbell) Becks was the best recruiter the Mac has ever seen hands down (4 4* in 3 years) the 2011 class would have ranked 5th in the big 10 alone! His defense is iffy but amstutz kind of left him with shit and I personally feel Mike Ward was GERG jr. They ran a base nickle the whole time at Toledo and couldn't stop the spread for the life of them but handled pro style fairly well. I think Becks will have plenty of success at Illinois but that fan base has to realize they aren't going to hire a Nick Saban but maybe Becks is the next best thing.
