Would be interesting to see them gamble on another spread coach. A lot of Gopher fans I've known at least like Brewster because he's got them playing power football again. Not wanting to return to the spread was a bigger factor for them with Leach than anything related to Craig James.

I'm still not convinced about this "you can't play the spread in the north" meme.  Why not?  Players can't run fast and catch balls in the cold, really?

I also agree this is their best case scenario.  I'm surprised no one tried to hire Sumlin last year.  But why not stay in the South.  It's possible the Big 12 grabs them when they look to get back to 12 teams.  Plus, do you really want to coach in Minnesota?

Kevin Sumlin would be perfect at Minn.  Mike Leach is also a good idea, but Sumlin's experience at Minn with his credentials make him the perfect candidate.  But didn't he sign a contract extension at Houston?
