This seems like some bullshit. Jalen's taking a limited number of experiences from a long time ago and extrapolating to the present. I'm sure this kind of thing still goes on, but saying 99.9% is just false. Maybe if he's talking about rule-breaking in general, but no way all schools encourages bachelor party-style parties for recruiting visits.

There are recruiting visits for certain teams where the recruit stays overnight with a current player as host. Those visits are..... well let's just say that at Michigan at least for some teams, those visits get a bit wild. At least from what I've witnessed personally. And I have a reasonably large sample size.

This segment focused on going to parties at night. I think it is fair to assume that this goes on at most places. I'm not saying the schools encourage it, but I doubt it is discouraged.

One thing that's worth pointing out is that in some recruit interviews and OSU type stories, it seems a lot of SEC schools have hostesses that guide the recruits around and provide sex. That, to me, certainly seems to cross a line.

I'm under the impression that Michigan and most B1G schools (read: not including Ohio) don't partake in such shinanigans. While at the same time, I do think these schools leave it up to the players to take recruits to parties and the like. I think that's a significant difference. Maybe it isn't, and maybe that's not accurate, but that is the impression I get.

Assuming (1) women aren't being coerced; (2) everyone is of legal age; and (3) the women aren't being paid, why does it cross a line? Obviously it's different if any of those assumptions are false, but I haven't heard anything yet about Oklahoma State suggesting they are false. I don't see why we should care if 18+ year old kids are having consensual sex. A lot of the discussion (not referring to your comment) sounds like slut-shaming.

#1 is the important thing.  Coercion basically exists if the university is aware of and promoting the women having sex with the recruits, regardless of whether there's actual like "do this or suffer consequence X" coercion.  It's similar to how employers shouldn't sleep with employees because of power disparities.

Basically, this is highly troubling: What's more, Oklahoma State football personnel played a central role in vetting Orange Pride candidates, with Les Miles, who coached the team from 2001 to '04, and current coach Mike Gundy interviewing some applicants -- a practice that does not occur at the three other Big 12 schools that confirmed to SI they had hostess programs.
