Agreed. How does it benefit the Big Ten to add a mediocre collection of Big East/Big 12 schools? GTFO. Stay TFO, actually.

4 16-team leagues mean they run everything, control championships and money and generally shrink the number of mouths to feed. The dynamic that gets you there is a combination of eat or be eaten and expanding your tv footprint.
In the B10's case you should also have railed against adding mediocre ACC teams
