With ND's schedule, they'll need to go undefeated to go to the MNC, and that might not even do it. Their toughest games are Stanford, USC, Michigan and MSU. Beating 3 of those 4 will not be enough for top-2, and beating all 4 of them still might not.
Now that I think about it, undeafeated ND would go just because they're ND, but one loss ND will likely have a lot of teams to beat out, and that schedule won't permit it.
