Yes, that sucked. Guess what?

It's time to get over it and move on. Our 8-4 football team lost to teams with a combined 45-3 record. All of our losses were away from home. We are/were a good, not great, football team, just like most of us thought coming into the year. We still get to watch this team play on New Years Day (Ohio State already made bowl shirts for their game: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/shane-morris-puts-game-perspective). There's a good chance that we'll play in the Capital One Bowl, which brings up some great memories:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSTp0frDDWo&playnext=1&list=PLD038920368D35B6D&feature=results_video (no embed available, it's Jamar Adams vs. TebowTime)

What's all this layin' around shit!?!?

All is not lost. We've got a top 3 Basketball team to cheer for at Crisler (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/m-basketball-3-usa-today). We've got a very talented hockey team that hopefully figures itself out soon. In football, we've got an extremely talented recruiting class coming in, playmakers all over, a few all B1G players, and we'll see some Michigan players drafted in the NFL.

Yes, losing to those dirty cheaters from Columbus hurts, and it should. Next year we've got them in our house and let's right the ship. We'll return a bunch of starters, plug in talented youngsters all over, and play again. Remember, Hoke still hasn't lost in the Big House. He's got a chance to have 20 wins in his first 2 years as coach. That's not too shabby. We're recruiting like gangbusters and set up to be a national contender for years to come. Until then, enjoy this team. Enjoy the Bowl. Enjoy hockey at Yost. And get ready to have a top Basketball team. As a 25 year old, I'm not really sure how to handle Michigan being good at basketball. I'm looking forward to it though.

I don't know if lineman ever qualify as "playmakers", but Hoke is investing heavily in our lines and if you've watched our OL at all this year you'll see it's been a huge liability.

The game starts in the trenches.  A solid line (maybe not the best next year, but it looks good from thereon out) will do wonders for your RBs and QB.

I'd like to see more recruits at RB and WR too, but we're not sacrificing talent elsewhere to bring in mediocre skill position players, either.

HAIL.

this isn't the nfl. there isn't a draft. you can bring in all the talent allowable by law at every position. so far morris is the only skilled position offencive player that qualifies as a game changer recruited by hoke and company. if anyone thinks otherwise it's probably because the bar has been lowered so far. some of these guys may become solid, but not game changers. i think braylon edwards father said as much as well the other morning on the gbw radio hour. i have to agree.

On offense Gardner qualifies, as does Gallon, Dileo might (especially considering special teams) Norfleet sure looks like he's due for a return TD, and we have a bunch of maulers coming in on the OL.

On defense we have Jake Ryan, Morgan, Ross, QWash, Pipkins, Frank Clark, Countess, and more highly touted recruits. Not too shabby, right?

Could Borges be considered for any of these recently open coaching positions at other schools? Schools have heisman campaigns, we should do the same for one of our coordinators who obviously deserves to be a head coach somewhere (anywhere).

I've been telling my son all season that he's going to see Michigan defense like it used to be played.  The starting lineup is full of Fr/So players that is already playing well enough to keep this team in every game.  The only game that I thought we got smacked in this year was Alabama and we're not the only ones it happened to.

I'm very excited.  He's still not sure what I mean since the RR years were his formative years.

I'm still tempering my enthusiasm on the offensive side of the ball.  Too many unanswered questions, but Gardner is definetly a step toward answering them.  I am very leery of all the people pinning their hopes on a high school kid who hasn't even taken a practice snap as a Wolverine yet.
