Why was I (apparently) wrong?

Submitted by THE KNOWLEDGE on

.
At the beginning of this diary, let me be clear that I don't want any snide remarks in the comments to the question above
.
yes
.
not that anyone is going to listen to it
.
yes
.
THE KNOWLEDGE is going to construct this diary a little bit differently because there is currently no coach search going on. so, THE KNOWLEDGE shall answer the question noted in the title. but, before answering that, THE KNOWLEDGE would like to give a quiz
.
yes
.
Question: Who is THE KNOWLEDGE?
The choices:
A. Someone with a PhD in engineering from U of M
B. Someone with a little bit of inside info into the M football program
C. Someone who makes posts that generate a lot of activity
D. All of the above
.
Have you answered yet?
.
Of course, the answer is D. The answer is always D in such questions. If you don't know this, you are an idiot
.
yes
.
THE KNOWLEDGE obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering not too long ago from U of M, and does indeed have a connection to an insider
.
yes
.
Due to the connection, THE KNOWLEDGE is privy to some info that most others aren't. So, THE KNOWLEDGE knew in advance that Shafer will be let go and made a post about it. There was no harm in writing this, and so THE KNOWLEDGE did
.
However, the DC situation was different
.
THE KNOWLEDGE mentioned that the 3 candidates for the post were: Lebeau, Tuberville, and Ryan. Obviously, Lebeau and Ryan - the two top D coordinators in the NFL - were just a joke to appeal to the fringe elements of the fan base and evoke some interesting responses. But, it is TRUE that Tubby was interviewed, but he didn't gel with RR and so it didn't work out
.
yes
.
G-Rob was only the third choice after Tubby and an unnamed NFL linebackers coach. RR was not left with many options after Chavis and other guys were picked up
.
yes
.
there is still one unanwered question
.
why did THE KNOWLEDGE predict Sarkisian as the HC last year?
.
the answer is obvious. if it's not, THE KNOWLEDGE will post about it later
.
yes
.
since there is no coaching search happening, and football season is a long way away, THE KNOWLEDGE will post even less frequently henceforth
.
yes
.
but once the season starteth, THE KNOWLEDGE shall post some insider info on how T. Forcier and D. Robinson are handling sharing the QB duties with S. Threet for the first 3 games
.
yes
.

The KNOWLEDGE is spouting off again about how he predicted Shafer would be fired. My grandma and my 7 year old also predicted it and so did everyone here. And you didn't predict Tuberville. You predicted Ryan. This poster is plaaayed. Sooooo plaaayed.

Some might ask what you have cooked up in the lab and snorted up your nose or injected into a vein! :P

All kidding aside, I am all for you posting your theories etc. One must take with a grain of salt what one reads on here.

THE KNOWLEDGE always leaves me a little speechless and bemused.

Just bizarre and over the top, but to a bizarrely bizarre degree. Also, bizarre.

It's really not about the kid (although he's dressed pretty dorky). I was thinking about how someone would have a PhD and consistently make so many errors. I graded HS SciFair projects for a number of years, so it was natural to envision this.

My prediction, THE KNOWLEDGE will continue to make crappy predictions and then when he is wrong he'll say it was a joke and that any who couldn't tell is an idiot. (Run on sentence, deal with it.) When he is only half right. He wasn't joking, but anyone who did believe him is, in fact, a complete idiot.

taxi driver. He knows half of everything. GR did have pro DC experience. The knowledge missed that other part; the recent years as head coach at a downward spiralling D-1 program. That part of the discussion was drowned out by traffic noise.

It's okay if you just want to be a fan. You don't have to claim you're an "insider". I'm detecting a lot of insecurity in your writing with the details of your degree and the like. I think it's past the point where you might have to do one of those "Daily Affirmations" with Stuart Smalley.

ate a variety of cheeses last night and had 4 stainless steel tumblers of ice cold bourbon.

Well, this morning I took a nasty shit that spiraled around the toilet 4 times. Stunk so bad the cat threw up and my kids moved out.

Just in case you think we should be reciprocal.

I was just busting your chops. It wasn't an indictment. You do not suck like THE KNOWLEDGE because you obviously can stand up and take it like a man. No excuses. +1

So a guy who successfully coached in the SEC, who's one of the most successful coaches in Auburn history, who had an undefeated team just a few years ago, with a bucket of coach-of-the-year awards to go with it, who had a long winning streak against arch-rival Alabama, who is from the South, who's coached his entire career in the South, is all of a sudden going to take a step down in his profession to become a coordinator again, and up in the frozen North to boot? When guys like Chizik are becoming HCs, Tuberville's going to take a demotion? Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ, what a load of comical crap.

When Tommy Tuberville wants to get into coaching again, it will be as a head coach. He'll have plenty of schools coming after him once he makes it known he's ready to come back.

The former head coaches who take a step down are the guys who failed as head coaches. Dan McCarney. John Blake. Jim Colletto. Greg Robinson. Tuberville's not in that category.

Chemical Engineer?? Is that PC for Meth Lab test subject? The Knowledge has lost his humorous edge and with it, my interest.

How thoroughly Spartanesque of you to shoot off your mouth, claim to have superior knowledge, and ultimately fall flat on your face. Sparty on!

Get a refund for the PhD. You got robbed.

And not a single person mentioned that he made another prediction in all that babble... He predicted D. Rob to go Blue.. Well, unlike his Ryan prediction, I hope he's right this time..

I humbly ask that you kind readers not judge all Michigan ChemE PhD's based on the odd displays of this one supposed graduate of that esteemed program.

Also, THE KNOWLEDGE, I really want to read your thesis. I hope it looks just like your posts here.

Well, honestly, it doesn't matter now. At the end, you were completely wrong, and you couldn't bask in glory like you thought you would. Your previous posts were a lot of fun, even though the chances of your information being true were slim to none. The problem is you gambled big, lost, and have zero credibility now. And as a friendly suggestion, I wouldn't even have mentioned the PhD thing if I were you. If you think that fact would gain you the respect and the attention you desperately seek here, you're wrong again. Considering the nature of the information you claimed to know, the seriousness of your previous posts would be fitting only to an immature 20 year old. It would have been OK to let us believe you were just trying to have some fun with your creativity, but to come out now and try to defend your posts sounds ridiculous. But once again, it was fun!

Now, I'm imagining what your research reports were like:

.
Before I get started on the scientific matters, let me just say that by the end of this report you will be amazed at my breakthrough discoveries.
.
yes
.
An amazing new material was invented that will free our country from Middle Eastern oil dependence.
.
yes
.
You might as well give me an A right now, because I'll be getting the Nobel Prize for Science anyways.
.
yes
.
That's right! By the end of this paper, I will have basked in glory so deep it will be hard for me to breathe. The greatest and the best ever in the history of the UM Chemical Engineering.

I am really enjoying myself. Basking in glory feels even better than I previously thought.
