Why RichRod, Why?

Submitted by jwendt on

Ok, so far I've been willing to go along with RichRod, crazy offense and all.  But Threet earned the job.  Despite being a classic pocket passer forced to learn a new system, despite having a walk-on elevated in front of him to start the season, and despite being surrounded by a sub-par offensive line and bunch of true freshmen, he managed to lead the team back against Wisco.

Now he wasn't great in the first half, but Sheridan is clearly lacking the basic talent to be a Big Ten QB.  He doesn't have an arm, he doesn't make good (or quick) decisions, and he doesn't belong back there right now.  RichRod, stop trying to show us all how smart you are.  Play the kid that gives Michigan the best chance to win.  Play the kid that actually has the physical talents to lead Big Ten offense.

Maybe you'll even have to shift to a little more passing-focused attack, but please please give us a chance.  Threet is a freshman, he's going to make mistakes, throw picks, inexplicably drop balls, even make the wrong decision from time to time.  But, rarely has the QB yo-yo worked anywhere.  Either you make the change and stick with it, or you find a package that works for a unique talent (like Tebow when Leak was still there).  But inexperienced QBs living in fear of the bench don't develop, they try to survive.  And sometimes, they break.  Don't break this guy.

It was freakin' Toledo!

that the medical staff knows what they're doing in keeping Threet out. I doubt Threet is the type that wouldn't go back in. We better hope this elbow thing is a one week deal and nothing more. Otherwise... it's going to be pandemonium!

threet fucking sucked anyway. neither one has the skill set to be a qb anywhere higher than a mid-teir D1-AA school. why not give carlos brown a shot? what do we have to lose... a few incomplete passes by sheridan/threet or a turnover? and, despite the fact that fera is coming next year, why in the hell can the football team never find a kicker that doesn't suck?

I was angry at Rich also intill I heard Threat was hurt. This season hurts bad. I can't wait intill we have 2 good quarterbacks next season and can hopefully get our offense moving. I dread next week against Penn State.

Was it me or did it look like Nick was putting some mustard on the ball? I thought his passes had much more "authorita" than the last time we saw him. I believe Brian alluded to the main issue with Threet, in his Toldeo preview; Steve is no threat to run. I think that's why Nick was able to move the offense a little better than Steve. I was more upset with the play of the defense; poor tackling and playing way too soft on the corners. They "dinked and dunked" us to death. Grrrr!

I wasn't aware Threet was injured, they didn't say anything on the telecast. If that's the case, I guess Sheridan was really our only option. It sounded like Graham and Warren were just nicked but didn't play, sure would have liked to see them out there.

To his credit, the first INT he Toledo wasn't his fault. I didn't think he looked significantly worse than Threet.

i think threet is better by sheridan...by leaps and bounds...but they still are both awful, i'm waiting for a five star freshman recruit to come in and take that starting job and get us back to the top again, cuz neither threet nor sheridan have the talent to carry this team
