What will happen the rest of the season

So, Michigan lost to MSU, primarily because of 4-5 plays, over the weekend, and everyone on this board and elsewhere appears very unhappy and apprehensive of the rest of the season

.

Before the game, everyone predicted a Michigan victory on these very pages. After the game, Misopogon composed a diary compiling all these predictions and how they wrong

.

But, he forgot one thing; everyone predicted a Michigan victory

.

except THE KNOWLEDGE

.

yes

.

People used Ratings, scouting, useless statistics and other methods to make these predictions. But, there is no better “prediction” of the future than actually knowing it. and in this method, there is no greater authority than THE KNOWLEDGE

.

yes

.

THE KNOWLEDGE had provided a not-too-subtle hint before the game. The 4th edition of THE KNOWLEDGE CHALLENGE was not posted on Friday; instead it was posted on Saturday morning. In that, THE KNOWLEDGE had stated that he will provide no pointers to the game (as opposed to the previous editions of THE CHALLENGE)

.

THE KNOWLEDGE did not want to cause paranoia before the game, and provided this hint for those that can understand. People did not, to their own detriment

.

yes

.

And, people still don’t understand THE KNOWLEDGE. that is why they are upset and unhappy

.

yes

.

THE KNOWLEDGE has clearly stated several times earlier that Michigan will finish the season 11-1 and play the BS Broncos for the National Championship (for the moron that commented stupidly on the last THE KNOWLEDGE post, BS refers to Boise State)

.

That is still true, since what THE KNOWLEDGE has provided is a season review; not a clumsy prediction

.

yes

.

Michigan wins the rest of the games, and the National Championship

.

Those who understand THE KNOWLEDGE will know the inevitability of the review and will continue to remain calm

.

As noted earlier, those that follow THE KNOWLEDGE shall be worry-free

.

As for the rest, THE KNOWLEDGE shall soar and leave every doubter in a trail of dust

.

yes

May I call you 'The?'

Are you sitting in a futuristic office chair right now in front a desk that sports an extremely large computer monitor that is too close to your face?  And are you petting an exotic cat and laughing menacingly the entire time??

Just curious.

THE KNOWLEDGE predicted we would go 12-1 last year, beating USC in the Rose Bowl

.

That did not happen

.

THE KNOWLEDGE dismissed the contention that Brian Kelly would be hired as ND head coach, instead predicting that Steve Sarkisian would be given the nod

.

That (also) did not happen

I whole-hartedly believe we can finish 11-1...but to go from 24th (coaches poll) to locking up a spot in the national championship game in half a season would seem absolutely spectacular. But, you are THE KNOWLEDGE

I think RR needs to stay, as long as we won't completely collapse the rest of the season.  If we can get to 8-4, or even 7-5, I think RR HAS TO STAY.  I know some of you probably think going 3-5 in the big ten and 7-5 overall is the doom of RR, so here are some reasons for my opinion.

1)  Offense.  We have pretty much won every game this year (minus UConn) solely on the shoulders of our offense.  They have been incredible this season (minus TOs versus state).  Everyone seems to forget how young our offense is because of the success they've had.  Next year we return EVERYONE but Schilling and Dorrestein.  Excited?  Hail. Yes.

2)  Dilithium.  Another year under his belt + another offseason of working his balls off to improve as a passer + infectious work ethic = ridiculous success next year.  I love this kid and his mental attitude toward the game.  True team player.

2)  Defense.  Our defense can only get better next year (IF Martin doesn't jump to the NFL).  Christian, Avery, Talbott, Carvin should all be redshirting, but because of the MIchigan Secondary hating God, they are getting significant playing time.  We get Woolfolk back, we lose Rodgers, Mouton, Ezeh, Banks.  Enter Jibreel Black, Sophomore CBs with game experience/a year under their belt, and PLEASE GOD an assignment sound LB core.  I would love to see Kovacs at LB next year.  If Martin stays, out defense should be at least average next year, which sadly is a BIG improvement.

3) Schedule.  Next year we play @ State, @ Iowa, @ Northwestern.  Those are our 3 most difficult road games.  States D loses some key players.  Iowa loses Stanzi, Clayborn, others.  Northwestern is northwestern and I expect a win there.  Home games include, OSU, Nebraska, ND.  No Wisconsin or Penn State on the schedule.

4)  Set Back.  This offense is ridiculous.  We have seen the success it can have.  The defense will only improve with the kids we have recruited.  The coaches are working hard to get tons of good defensive recruits.  If we hire a new coach with a new system, players leave, recruits decommit, and the program faces a setback.

The rest of the Year.  Penn State game looks more winnable every week.  Illinois is showing vast improvement, but I believe that is a game that we can/should win.  Purdue showed signs of life last weekend, but they have too many injuries to beat us this year.  Iowa/Wisconsin are games that we can win if we play well and protect the football.  OSU is a toss-up, probably a loss, but no one ever knows with this game.  I think the advantages of keeping RR far outweight the disadvantages.  We chose the direction of this program 3 years ago.  The spread is finally installed, and half of our team is complete.  Think about what happens when the defense can hold their own in 2 to 3 years (hopefully next year as well).  I get wood just thinking about it.

* I know this should be its own thread, but i'm new to the board and haven't figured out just how to do that yet*

The only reason RR may go if he is 7-5 is because how poorly he handled the NCAA investigation (both internally and with the NCAA). The actual violation was quite minor (not filing forms and a few extra minutes of practice), and the compliance office was just as much to blame. But instead of admitting fault and moving on he made some ridiculous arguments that put UM in a tough position, and ticked some people off. I think he should stay at 7-5 football-wise, but there may be some other factors that go into the decision.
