Video Of All Varieties: That Happened
[Ed: You know, I was going through my VOAV stuff today and ran across this from Boyz in the Pahokee, which is everything I was going to post, so here's the bump. Still looking for Denard's post-game Sportscenter interview.]
Al Lesar's lede from his column in this morning's South Bend Tribune:
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Retro jerseys obviously didn’t fit well. Collars were too tight.

Do you have any of the footage of Desmond's number being honored? I was extremely disappointed to not see it on ESPN.
September 11th, 2011 at 3:15 AM ^
Watch the first video. It's at the very beginning.
September 11th, 2011 at 3:18 AM ^
I did I meant I thought there would be more footage than that. Guess I should have just gone to the game.
And thanks for posting these.
Hail!!!

Here's a bit more from MGoBlue:
September 11th, 2011 at 8:52 AM ^
way to go ESPN. I had to watch Georgia and SC until 7:59
September 11th, 2011 at 9:25 AM ^
ESPN really dropped the ball with that. Their big primetime game was starting and they didn't bother to bump the silly SEC matchup over to another channel? The alumni bar I was at in DC had to resort to putting the ESPN3 stream on, with no sound for a bit, until that damn game ended. I hate the SEC!!!
September 11th, 2011 at 8:52 AM ^
but there's a good interview with him on mgoblue.com http://www.mgoblue.com/allaccess/ he talks about his first meeting with denard.
September 11th, 2011 at 7:06 PM ^
I love Desmond I love Denard I love Michigan I love Everything
September 11th, 2011 at 3:12 AM ^
...because I still cant believe what I saw. Go Blue
September 11th, 2011 at 3:13 AM ^
BTW thanks for putting this great thread together
September 11th, 2011 at 3:21 AM ^
So if I understand the Desmond tribute correctly, that patch will always be on the #21 jersey?
September 11th, 2011 at 3:34 AM ^
Correct
September 11th, 2011 at 3:49 AM ^
If you look closely, Junior Hemingway's (/Desmond Howard's) jersey has the "Michigan Football Legend" patch on the right breast.
Go Blue!
September 11th, 2011 at 6:11 AM ^
Did anyone see if the other #21 had the patch too? I assume there wouldn't be pictures. Maybe the 360.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:55 AM ^
Will there ever be more than one patch on a jersey?
September 11th, 2011 at 1:53 PM ^
I like the idea of the honoring the legends with patches on the jerseys, however I think the execution of the patch itself leaves more to be desired. It just looks like a guady iron on thing.
I would have liked to see something a little smaller and maybe Desmond's signature embroidered on it instead of the printed lettering.
September 11th, 2011 at 4:18 PM ^
The concept of the patches is very cool, but the patch itself should be a little smaller.

September 11th, 2011 at 10:45 AM ^
same here, people around me were going "Llyod"?? "Brady"?? "Whatchoo talkin bout, man?"
GO BLUE!
September 11th, 2011 at 3:34 AM ^
Thanks a lot for the videos. I was there and still can't believe it. Down 24-7 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Wowza.
September 11th, 2011 at 3:44 AM ^
We just took the top three spots on ESPN Top Plays. Also, I love Frank Beckmann.
September 11th, 2011 at 2:11 PM ^
Does anybody have the radio broadcast of the game? I'd love to remix the highlight video with that audio.
September 11th, 2011 at 3:45 AM ^
oh yes thank you, can't watch those highlights enough
September 11th, 2011 at 4:17 AM ^
Ive watched Will Campbell on this play over and over again. I feel like he's arrived, absolutely blows his man off the ball and sets up the whole play
September 11th, 2011 at 4:23 AM ^
Got that pad level down and look at the result!!
September 11th, 2011 at 1:54 PM ^
Could you imagine this on every play?
September 11th, 2011 at 4:30 AM ^
You're right, that looked like HS for him
September 11th, 2011 at 5:12 PM ^
WOW. Please let this be a sign he is starting to "get it." It's pretty apparent that he needs time in real games to get better and Mattison had him in there a lot in the 2nd half.
September 11th, 2011 at 4:23 AM ^
The chest patch and locker plaque is such a classy way to honor Legends like Desmond as well as pass the torch on to younger players... well done Michigan Ath Dept.
September 11th, 2011 at 4:35 AM ^
I like the highlights with the radio guys. I hope there's a torrent with their audio.
September 11th, 2011 at 6:30 AM ^
I doubt that's going to happen this week. If Pam Ward ever does another Michigan game, it might.
September 11th, 2011 at 2:13 PM ^
I did that last year for the IU highlight reel (I tried to grab the radio audio for last nights game but was waylaid by technical difficulties), and I will do whatever it takes to do it again whenever we're cursed with her presence in future.
September 11th, 2011 at 5:40 AM ^
I didn't see the late 3rd quarter pass to Hemmingway. How did Denard complete that pass?
September 11th, 2011 at 5:48 AM ^
Im sure the recruits were jumping around excited as all can be.... Does anyone have pictures of them getting into the game like the guy from last week ( his name slips my mind ) but im sure this game was a great in recruiting ...
Also does anyone have video of the celebration after the game with the crowd, the band playing and players jumping into the stands ?
September 11th, 2011 at 6:07 AM ^
Denard said he called for it. Roundtree never mentions it when twice asked about the huddle.
And now he uses "This is Michigan" as a verbal pause.
September 11th, 2011 at 6:44 AM ^
Good highlights. enjoy the overlap with the radio call.
September 11th, 2011 at 7:05 AM ^
Im proud of our DEFENSE we gave up a ton of yards but we forced TO's and came up HUGE when we needed it... We would have definitely lost this game if the D didnt come up big
September 11th, 2011 at 8:59 AM ^
Thanks for posting this Boyz n da Pahokee, i went to mgovideo first and watched them all! Great stuff as per usual. Great performance by the team! Even if they didn't come back with the final 30 seconds, they fought so hard. Being able to score four fourth quarter td's was special. So happy for Vince Smith breaking those tackles! My buddy broke my ceiling fan as we were jumping and screaming for him to score.
September 11th, 2011 at 9:38 AM ^
Anyone have the video of the Denard postgame interview with Fowler?
September 11th, 2011 at 10:02 AM ^
Anyone know what was going on with Hoke and Devin Gardner after one of the TD's (I think it was the Gallon TD)? It looked like Hoke was chewing Gardner out for some reason. Odd.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:38 PM ^
I could not tell if it was Hawthorne or Gardner, but I imagine Hoke was trying to keep players off the field and avoid any celebration penalties with :02 on the clock still.
September 12th, 2011 at 8:56 AM ^
and it was definitely Gardner. Given the timing when watching it, it definitely seemed as though he probably was trying to go celebrate with his team mates on the feild and got a good chewing out for it. Good thing too given the USC incident.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:06 AM ^
Has anyone seen the 101st Parachute Demo Team's video online? It looked really cool when they showed it on the scoreboards, would like to see it again.
Thanks.

I really feel that this defense is going to really come along as the season progresses. We are starting to see some flashes from young guys such as BWC and Hawthorne. Kovacs is playing out of this world and JT Floyd looks improved from last year even if Floyd did own him. The defense still needs to gel and fully understand Mattison's playbook.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:23 AM ^
does anyone have Denard's postgame interview with ESPN. When he came back to the field? My recording didn't go long enough to catch it on SC.
September 11th, 2011 at 1:05 PM ^
Boys n da Pahokee mentioend this in reply to a comment a few above yours, but you might've missed it.... it's included in the torrent.
September 11th, 2011 at 1:39 PM ^
A question for those in attendance last night. Was the the most alive you've ever seen the Big House?
This is my 17th season as a season ticket holder, and with the possible exception of the '97 victory over Ohio State I have never seen the crowd into a game as last night.
What an event, it lived up to every bit of the hype!
GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
