TomVH: Demetrius Hart Update

Submitted by TomVH on

I just spoke to Demetrius Hart's mom, and Demetrius is definitely not coming this weekend for the BBQ. Instead, he's on his way to a 7 on 7 tournament with his teammates......in Alabama. She didn't know if the 7 on 7 was at the University, or just in Alabama, and I haven't found it yet, either. It sounds like it is at the university.

His mother told me that he's very stressed out by the whole process right now, and they couldn't make it up to Michigan for financial reasons. They will try to reschedule it in the summer, or possibly for his official visit. They couldn't make this trip due to financial reasons, which is completely understandable.

She also said that nothing has changed with their opinion on Michigan, but they would like Demetrius to visit Auburn and Alabama. They want him to take his time, and make sure that everything is right. She reiterated that nothing has changed with their opinion on Michigan, but they wouldn't like to see him in a "woulda, shoulda, coulda" situation.

They're not sure when he'll make his decision anymore, so we'll have to wait and see. I'm not really sure either way if it's a good or bad thing for Michigan the longer it takes.

This thread is hilarious.  Here's my 2 cents:

If I were your average high school recruit from somewhere outside of both Michigan and Alabama, I was a highly touted recruit, and both schools wanted me, I would probably choose Alabama.  This is assuming I didn't grow up a Michigan fan, like I actually did.  Saban sends guys to the pros like mad, and wins championships.  Can't argue with that.

So when Michigan goes head to head with Alabama for an out of state recruit, I usually write him off unless I've heard other information.  Luckily, Dee Hart has been leaning M's way for a while now, so we're still in good shape.  Also, the longer Hart stays on the board, the more likely it is that Bama picks up one of the other big time RB's they're after, helping our chances with Dee.

is the most worthless piece of shit ever, but I'm absolutely on his side in this extremely asinine debate.  michfan4, the conclusions you draw up might be impressive in a 5th grade classroom, but it saddens me that people like you graduate from a school like UM.  To put it bluntly, you're a bumbling fucktard of a human being who should probably catapult himself into the nearest vat of Vavoom and drown themselves.  I know the horse is beaten and dead, but you really...really...should look re-taking 2nd grade english and learn to comprehend the things others say.  It may come in handy one day, like say the next time you accuse your daughter of being a lesbian communist the next time she rejects your advances.

Seacrest out.

I think it's important to point out that Pete Carrol has quite the resume!  (Or at least he did prior to the sanctions that are imminent.)

While I admit I used alot of words (again, I apologize and advise you to read further down this thread only if you have a whole day to kill) to explain my position regarding HCs and Magnus's characterization of RR relative to Saban, I doubt it was a logical position to only school kids.  But for your understanding, here it is again:

Although Saban has a great resume, I just don't understand "throwing RR under the bus" to make an obvious point -- that Saban is currently a winner (I think we all know this already).

The next best part of the thread was that Magnus's defender than asked me to consider Magnus's reputation when criticizing him even though Magnus intentionally left out Saban's  (bad) reputation

Saban will probably leave Alabama before trouble comes ala Pete Carrol.  I like RR and still believe he will bring Michigan championships.  Call me "defender of RR" if you must.
