Tate or Shoelace?

Submitted by GoBlueOly_2 on

Who's gonna start? Tate? Shoelace? Nick? This queston is the most common question right now but I really wanna know. I mean everyone is in love with Tate but as soon as Denard I mean "Shoelace" Came on campus people wanna marry him. I honestly think Denard should start because of his speed (imagine if he tied his shoelaces?) He is going to be very fun to watch and he is perfect for the spread offense. But Tate is doing great as well. We all know speed kills(FLORIDA) and that is why i want Shoelace to run this offense. I mean who do u guys want to run this Michigan offense? This Denard guy has impress me the most. I can really see him take Michigan to a high level. Its also easy to see Tate run this Michigan O as well. I want to see this QB competition heat up. I mean let's be honest Shoelace runs a 10.44 in the 100. This is just another Pat White or even better. I can't wait for the first game of the season against Western Michigan. I'm counting the days down and I can't wait for the starting QB walking out on that field and lead Michigan on a Victory!

Denard thread #759, but ok, I'll play. I would like to see Tate start with Denard being a change-of-pace QB to throw the Defence off. Since Tate has been coached to play since he was in the womb, he likely has a better head for the game then Shoelace right now.As the season goes on I could see Shoelace getting more of a chance to start but right now, I would go with Tate.

This is now Robinson/Tate/QB Battle thread/piece number 8 for today. In fact this thread is almost a mirror of Chitown's expressions of "irrational exuberance" over Robinson, except he gave us four bullet points. It will be a blessing when we have actual football to discuss and a UFR to haggle over... FWIW...I am still a Tate guy...whenever people start hyping Robinson's speed and developing a man crush for him all I can think about is Darrius Hayward-Bay.

Nick will get the start, being benched after his first series being booed by 100,000. Tate will then come in with Denard doing plays here and there. The 17 yr old (then Tate) during the Spring game didn't impress you? Getting 4 tds against college kids?

Next diary: Will Tate or Denard transfer if he isn't the starter? Diary after the next diary: How soon will Devin Gardner be our starting quarterback? Diary after the next diary after the next diary: Should RichRod recruit a quarter back next year?

So I had negged the post without reading it just because it was another post about Tate vs. Denard, but now I don't know. I feel like I just slapped a child or something like that.

is being beaten to death, but on the other hand, but how much else is there to talk about right now? So Why neg the post? Heaven forbid that Tate and Denard split time during the first 4-5 games. "Who's the better qb?", will be the only thing people will want to discuss! Chill out a little, guys.

I think he is just simply more consistent than the other two. Denard is going to get his snaps but until he polishes his throwing, which could be early this year, he is going to be behind Forcier.

I thought one of the mods said yesterday that any more of these posts was going to get deleted on site. The amount of posts about the Tate / Nick / Denard three-way is really making me hope Coach Rod names Jimmy Kennedy the starter on September 5th.

A wry, self-deprecating perspective on this very slow news day and the edgy nature of fandom on the verge of a new season? If so, I commend the all-bold look, the lack of paragraphs, or, indeed, any structuring of thought, the sentence and word fragments, and of course the duplication of about 90 percent of what has passed as content today. If not... well, I like the enthusiasm. Woof woof!
