Spring game tailgate
I know there has been some talk about the spring game so far. I would just like to see what if anything has been planned with some of us fans? The last time I was at a spring game in 2002 there wasnt very many fans there and it was "ok". I know the weather can be bad in early April but I want to start turning UM's spring game into events like they are at other schools. Not only would it be alot more fun for us but think about how pumped the players, recruits and coaches would be seeing all of us and having a great time!
I know me and my buckeye fan girlfriend(dont worry she's cool) will be there and I WILL be tailgating before and after the game. So please come and all of you are more than welcome to come and hang out(drinking, playing games and music) with us as I show my love for the maize and blue!!! If anyone else is planning on tailgating or whatever we all should try and get together to have one giant party and have a great time doing what we all love, talking Michigan football! If anyone has any ideas on how to make the day better I'm open for anything. I dont know my way around Ann Arbor that great but we plan on heading downtown that night for some great food and drinks.
I hope to see all of you there to help show my girl how Michigan does it! She is looking forward to her first trip to the Big House and even though she's a buckeye I know with our fans she will love it! GO BLUE!!!!

I love the spring game. I plan to tailgate as well and hope a lot of people come. It seemed to have gained a bit more steam in past years to the point where I really missed it last year. So hopefully it will be back at the Big House and I"m sure a lot of people will attend. Go Blue!

i'm down. set it up. I'll bring a set of bags (cornhole boards) and some snacks. will there be a problem drinking with it not actually being a game day?

If we can get enough people on here to meet up we could have one hell of a tailgate. i'm glad you have cornhole cause i dont. I dont think drinking will be much of a problem esp. if we get a bunch of us to park in the same area.

Having the corner of State and Hoover crowded, loud, and full of maize n brew would be a good start...

me and my buddy usually tailgate at Mr. Stadium but if you have a better spot then I am most definitely game. I have never been to a spring game before and am looking forward to this year with all the new construction and all

I've never been there for a spring game. Anybody know how the parking is? Are the tailgating spots the same? I assume they don't open up the golf course for parking, but what about the parking lots near the stadium?

Shouldnt' be too crowded. I have tailgated at Pioneer for the spring game. They charge like $5 or $10 to park. Pretty much a way scaled down gameday.

in 2003 or 2004 and we just parked on one of the side streets west of Main and had about a 5-10 minute walk to the stadium. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

She may be a Buckeye lean, but you need to convince her otherwise.

spring game. Except last year. We managed to get into game but Saline wasn't going to play that "we'll look the other way while you drink on school property". I recommend Pioneer. It's only a few bucks and then you're right across street from game. Pioneer doesn't harass you for drinking as long as you keep it in cups and don't get out of control. We've had spring game tailgates where we had such a great time tailgating that we never even made it in the stadium. It's really a great experience for somebody that has never been. It's free and you can meet the players either on the field or outside the stadium after. I have a bunch of great pictures of my kids with players from spring games past. My oldest now 17 was given a glove by Cato and David Underwood gave him his beanie rag. My kids still swears that a player gave a kid his helmet one year but I didn't see it myself. All in all a great day for a Michigan fan.

They used to let you onto the field after the spring game, to hang out with the players and coaches for a minute or two. It was great. Not sure if they still do it.
I haven't went in a couple years so I don't know what they charge. It probably is not much.
But, the best thing about the spring game is that, as long as too many peoples don't show up, you get primo seats and can move up and down the sideliness following the play. When they get close to the endzone, you go sit behind the goal posts and its a great view. And, its quiet enough where you can hear junk you can't hear game day i.e. coaches yelling, players yelling out adjustments, stuff like ooohrrrggrrrrpppp. AND, very few obnoxious people show up. Its just one big warm and fuzzy circle jerk of Meeeechigan football. If you can, you really should go.

There will definitely be a tailgate at the Box house at State and Hoover regardless of weather conditions. Lets get drunk and watch Michigan beat itself.
