to play football, not to play trumpet
Sportsbook recently released their O/U on wins for the upcoming colllege football season. http://www.sportsbook.com/livesports/indexmember.php?sportsname=football
Some lines of note...
Wisconsin: Over 8.5 (+135) Under (-170)
@OSU should be a loss, vs MSU and @Minn will most likely generate another loss. Vs Mich vs Iowa and @NW could easily bring out 2 more losses as well. I believe fresno state is decent this year also and could be an upset possibility. That being said I think the -170 line will scare many people away.
Notre Dame: Over 8.5 (-160) Under (+130)
USC=loss, @UM and vs MSU will be at least one loss i believe and possibly two. I believe this ND team is over-rated but there just isn't much on the schedule other than the 3 games i mentioned. But with the +130 line I think it could be a decent bet that they could drop a game like @Pitt or BC...
Michigan: Over 7 (+105) Under (-135)
I know a lot of people are being uber-cautious with their expectations but I see us going 6-6 as basically the lowest realistic possibility unless app st/toledo michigan-hating god is present every saturday, which is possible i suppose.
EMU, Ind, Del St.= if we lose any of those (knock on wood) a bet will be the least of my worries. WMU and Purdue, very unlikely that we lose both, I think most likely we take both. MSU is 20 times more win-able than any spartan fan will have you think, and Iowa is a winnable game as well. I personally expect a victory over ND this year based on the premise that we might have beaten them with Threetidan in South Bend last year if we didn't fumble the ball 9,548 times. In the big house and with forcier/denard I like our chances.
Between the 8 games already mentioned the most likely win number is 6 with 7 more likely tthan 5. @Wisc, @Ill, PSU, OSU I think more likely generates a win than doesn't. I think a push is pretty likely here but I personally see 8 as more likely than 6. I love the +105 on this bet as well.
Anyone else find any games they like or have any thoughts?
