I like it. Creative.
San Diego State Wallpaper
Here goes attempt number three of the season (I did not make a wallpaper for week one because BlueIndy already had it covered here.) I did a couple looks last week and ended up with the bald eagle sitting in a large jail cell looking all dejected. I struggled with taking the nations great bird and portraying him in a negative way.
As I approached this week's wallpaper I had another internal struggle. I had a hard time finding a tasteful way to place the Aztec within the grand scheme of Michigan destroying another mascot/school on the way to a B1G title and top ten finish of the season. Maybe it is the pastor in me that hates to offend. So I gave it a couple days to see if anything less offensive resonated with the creative juices.
I ended up thinking less along the lines of the mascot and more along the lines of this being Brady's last place of residents and how they must have felt about losing their coach. I thought about something along the lines of Coach walking along the intersate heading towards Ann Arbor. I considered him pointing instead of hitch hiking. I ended up with a simple concept of what they must feel like when a coach that they have loved (after all we have quickly grown to love him) just vanished and left town. As I said, it is simple but I am not a photoshop guy with a ton of time. I tried very hard to get a head set in the picture that was just tossed on the ground but I could not get the right depth and lighting/shadowing. This is all I have to offer.
Is it just me or does that football look a little deflated?
Nice wallpaper though.
IMO, just you. Maybe it's the color or something.
You can tell by the pixels that it was shooped.
All the dots are the same.
I like it, but isn't this the type of thing that should come out on Monday so we can have it as our wallpaper all week in anticipation of the game? It's a good conversation starter during a boring lecture, but now I only have one class left this week.
hmmm <HAUGH>, She's unlisted...
So, yeah, I actually don't see where this wallpaper is. Do I need a certain amount of points to view the image? I keep clicking on "cjm's blog" and I don't see it, so I go back I click on "San Diego State Wallpaper" and it takes me here...not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Clicking on the "cmj's blog" link will just take you to all of the diaries he's created. If you haven't tried right clicking and opening in a new window, try that. Or I'll post the picture below.
cmj's SDSU Wallpaper:
Do you have other wallpapers too? You should post a link to your photo album
Since monuMental is doing backgrounds for the rivalry games, I didn't do Notre Dame, but I did backgrounds for W Michigan, E Michigan, and San Diego St... I posted them all up on my old photobucket account...
I'll continue to post non-rivalry game wallpapers on Mondays, but don't have 100 points yet, so I'll have to hijack [ guilty :-( ] to do so... you can just go to the above link on Mondays, though, until I get enough points.
On Monday if you come onto MGoBlog I'm sure you can find someone who will post for you. The added benefit of that is one of the mods can bump you to 100 so you can post your own, that's happened several times since posbanging went down.
If you don't want to just ask some random person I'll post it for you once I see you have it up (if you want me to, either way). You're doing good work, keep it up.
Edit: Misopogon got yo back, congrats on the point bump.
I agree that one of us will get it posted for you when you are ready and most likely you can get a bump to 100 points from a mod. I did't even know you did an Eastern one till I saw this post.
is there a link to a bigger version?
I'm still trying to figure out what generic football stadium this is... definitely not Michigan Stadium.
Not sure, but I think it's SDSU's stadium. The sign wouldn't make any sense in the Big House, would it?
This is just a generic stadium. San Diego State plays at Qualcom field and I couldn't find the right shot there to use.
Love it, but if i could change one thing, it would be to replace the fictitious I-6 with I-8, which actually runs right by SDSU's campus.
Link to larger file...
Also andrewG. Totally missed that. I was trying to get it done quickly and had the typo in there because it was supposed to be Interstate 8.
i'll forgive you... this time.
