Pick Six returns! Now on Mgoblog
Although we may despise Notre Dame there have been some valuable contributions by Notre Dame football blogs. One of the best was the Pick Six contest that the now defunct Notre Dame blog Blue-Gray Sky used to operate. Before the season you pick 5 ranked teams and one unranked team that you think will end the season with the highest rankings after the bowls are done.
I enjoyed entering the contest when Blue-Gray Sky was still around so with Brian's approval we're bringing Pick Six to MGoBlog.

Very similar to my picks. I think BYU has a lot going for them this year, and could easily be the be one of the strongest unranked teams. Pre-Snap Read did a great write up on them here: http://www.presnapread.com/no-12-b-y-u/

I'm in, but am I allowed to make more than one entry? I assume I would have to choose a different user name, I just did one for the moment. I went with a system assuming that Michigan will win all 12 games so I didn't pick any team we are scheduled to play, although I'm probably way too heavy on SEC where we could see one of them in a bowl.
A. Bama
B. OK State
C. Ark

We posted at the exact same time with almost the exact same picks. Did you also put on a neon green thong, a pair of yellow corduroy trousers, and a purple-with-white-polka-dots shirt at 7:24 EST this morning?

It could be worse. ChampKind has all the same picks as mine, except in the Unranked category he has Michigan while I have Texas. I am not expecting to actually win this contest, but if I do I will know it's because instead of picking Michigan, I had to be the a-hole.

A. Boise State (Cupcake conference. They'll probably go undefeated)
B. Stanford (Pac-12 is one of the weakest conferences with the likes of Arizona, Colorado, Oregon State, etc.)
C. Virginia Tech (Will be one of the only decent teams in the ACC)
D. Mississippi State (An SEC team. Nuff said... they'll get their mandatory top 15 ranking)
E. West Virginia (Mark it right now WV vs. Pitt in the big east conference championship. WV wins)
F. Michigan (Schedule + Scheme + Denard)
August 24th, 2011 at 12:31 PM ^
You chose Boise and Stanford because they're in weak conferences, then Mississippi State because they're in the SEC

Is the goal to predict only the final AP poll? or is it a culumulative thing where a team gains points for each week in the top 25. #3 seems to indicate that it is the latter, but #2 the former.
Or is there two different measures for a season long average and a final poll?
