An open letter to Michigan Football.

I cannot express my love for this squad in words. I have been crying for an hour and it feels good… This team was everything I could hope for in terms of character, they did everything they could do to seal a victory but sometimes the cards don’t play out the way you need them too. To Brandon Graham, Ortman, Matthews, Stevie B and all the other seniors; I will never forget what you put in to make this program great in the future. You are all Michigan Men and I will love you and what you have done for this program forever… To the underclassmen, thank you. You have fought hard, worked hard and put yourselves in a position to be a dominant team going forward. To Rich Rodriguez and the coaching staff; Thank you, today you showed the fans that our faith in you is not misguided, I firmly believe we are on the right track and it is all thanks to you. Please do not believe in the negativity that the media perpetuates, I am here to tell you that I have faith and a lot of love invested in this program and at the end of the day you are ALL making me proud. Thank you to all the fans in section 27 with me cheering as hard as you could, we left our hearts on the benches and we will pick them up next year. I love Ann Arbor, I love this state and I will die with a Michigan football jersey hanging to my back.

The team gave us what we wanted and that was a game. For the first time this year the defense held up their end of the bargain for a full game and it was the offense that came up short. I will miss Brandon Graham and the heart he played with every snap of every game. It was great to see Stevie Brown overcome the adversity that was everyone calling for his head last year to be the best LB we had this year and a good tackler. Mathews showed us when given the opportunity that indeed he has great hands. Minor & Brown supplied with us with some great plays when healthy, it's a shame they had to be banged up for their finale. As frustrating as Saturdays have been for many Wolverine fans throughout the season we will all miss this team and be counting down the days until next year so we can once again go to A2 and cheer them on. Brighter days are on the horizon so stick by the team and support them. GO BLUE!

Thanks for your inspiring letter. Damn straight!! As opposed to a few other games this season, I was very proud of our guy's effort on the field today. I am a little concerned about our prospects on defense next year, but it looks like the offense will turn into a juggernaut given time. Man, we will miss BGraham ... best UM DE of my lifetime. Hail Zoltan!

I agree, the team the team the team, and those who stay will be champions. I think alot of players whom come into a coaching change and an entire shift in playing style and stick around. The ones whom leave were decomited beofre they came. My comments from being at game yesterday were shame-shame on all you fans who sold your tickets to the visiting team fans! You people need to give up your tickets permanantly!!! Stick behind your team thick or thin. I hope I never ever again see a stadium taken over by the visiting fans like this last Saturday! Go Blue!

Forcier will be better, remember he never lifted weights in high school? He'll add size and smarts and be better. Vincent Smith really stood out to me today, he's gonna be a good one. He seemed to have some of that "mysteriously end up on the other side of the pile" that Hart had. I'm all in for the rest of my life, no matter what.

Dude, seriusly, you need to get a real life cuz like that is the gheyest thing I have heard in a while. The team played hard and gave it their all in every game. Nobody is happy with the record. But, man, its just footbaw. Nobody died. People are nucking futz. Next year the team will be better, and in 2011 they may even contend for a title. It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine not because of victories. Its just great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

I know it's ridiculous but it's my senior year and that was probably the last game I'll have the opportunity to go to for a while, I wasn't expecting a win I just feel so bad for the seniors. The second the game was over I immediately had flashbacks of losing my last hs game in the playoffs and that feeling of finality hit me hard. After the game I was listening to all of the locker room interviews on WTKA and Greg Matthews sounded absolutely distraught.I wasn't doubled over and balling it was just tears off and on for a while. I probably should not have even mentioned it but I wrote this about an hour after the game when I was still fairly inebriated.

I didn't cry, because I was just hoping for no rout, but I did feel for the seniors while feeling a lot of hope for the future. Two things about RichRod 1) for the first time in my life I am the fan of a team whose coach I think is a go-for-the-throat type. I'm pretty convinced that Lloyd would have tried to just get into field goal position against ND. I'm also convinced that he would have never tried to block that punt against Wisconsin, instead letting them start the field position chokehold that has dominated my fan existence. That decision didn't work, but it was certainly different than the Big Ten football that I have grown up with. 2) I might have missed this, but RichRod does *not* talk obsessively about 'the process.' Being doomed to be a Browns fan, I hope that Mangini is fired just as he mouths the word 'process' to incoming football czar Mike Holmgren...

comment, even though I often don't. Kudos to the whole staff for staying the course. Despite blatant attacks on their character, they've managed to persevere. Big ups to the outbound seniors, especially BG. If I wasn't such a Woodley slappie, I'd call that guy the best DE I've seen in a M uniform. Great things are ahead for us. I, for one, am glad that we have a coach that has a progressive gameplan. Also, which doesn't get mentioned much, kudos to Bill Martin for having the balls to hire "outside the Michigan family" & resist the inner circle's wishes for morons like DeBord, Parrish & the like. That move ALONE brought us into the next century & put us ahead of the curve, which fits our standard... Leaders & best Counting down to Signing Day & the Spring game...
