I'm not sure how I feel about vendors in the aisles during the game. I guess we'll all see what it's like on September 4th. I suppose as long as they don't get in my sightline, I'll be fine.
However, $8 for a cup of hot cocoa...yeesh.

And $4 for a bottle of water - guess that is the real reason why you can't take closed bottles of water into the stadium this year.

Didn't they previously charge $4 for a bottle of water? Only difference will be not waiting in line (although I agree that it's a bit ridiculous to ban closed bottles from coming in).

I wonder if some of the many complaints about having to leave your seats to buy bottled water was part of what prompted this new vending policy. I realize it takes time to get deals like this worked out between the AD and EMS, but it seems like it may have been possible to pull this off in a month's time.

The venders being in my sightline are less of a concern to me than the people in the middle of the rows requiring everyone else to pass their money and food/drinks during play, over and over again. If you're near the aisle, it can suck.

RABBLE!!!!

They will not sell beer or hot dogs.Bastards.

Looks like they need to bring back the hot dog man from 2006. The students loved him. And he got kicked out of the stadium every time.

Blame Rob Rademacher (http://www.mgoblue.com/genrel/061510aaa.html). He barked at the ushers to get him out every time he'd start throwing things. One can unfortunately not say no to him.

HOT! DOG! MAN!

bring back the beer? Talk about a revenue raiser.
August 28th, 2010 at 10:05 PM ^
Am I one of the few people who remember when beer was allowed to be brought into the Stadium? In coolers?
Ah, the good old days.
August 28th, 2010 at 9:58 AM ^
Yuppers! And DB said there will be "high end" vendors and even "healthy" food being sold!
Perhaps they will sell wine & cheese?
(I'm sure it will be available in the premium seating.)

Gruyere and a saucy '08 Hess Select Monterey Peninnsula Chardonnay, my good man...Ooooh, what a hit by Vlad......take his frikkin head off!!!!

They'll be told to sit down more than they'll make sales.
August 28th, 2010 at 10:04 AM ^
C'mon, you're getting a commemorative mug with David Brandon's face on it. It's a bargain at any price. The real question is how much they'll charge for cocoa refills.
I don't know about the assertion that the aisles are now less crowded, at least wrt the ones with the railings smack down the middle. Those are not going to be easier to navigate, since you now have much less room to pass somebody on the left.
And cotton candy? gah. Might as well have corn dogs with snaggle-toothed carnies hawking 'em.
August 28th, 2010 at 10:14 AM ^
Will the aisle vendors be handing out those free 9oz glasses of water? Thw new policy would suck a whole lot less if they did.
August 28th, 2010 at 10:39 AM ^
...the vendor job description and specifically how they make their money, I highly doubt it.
August 28th, 2010 at 11:36 AM ^
Great Idea. I just can't see this free cups of water thing being a reality - or enough of a reason for us not to be annoyed by not being able to bring water into the stadium.
August 28th, 2010 at 10:48 AM ^
I can definitely remember people in the stands selling Italian Ice, and it certainly wasn't 20 years ago. Its not really that obtrusive, I don't think it will really make a difference.
August 28th, 2010 at 11:02 AM ^
This is really good news. I hate having to get up to wait in a long line to buy a bottle of water. It still stings a little that opened bottles of water were banned, now closed bottles of water are banned...but at least I won't have to get up.
Folks are going to be surprised by how much extra revenue is generated from this.
August 28th, 2010 at 11:35 AM ^
Has anyone been in the isles and actually noticed a substantial difference? Or, are we only talking a matter of a couple inches?
August 28th, 2010 at 3:50 PM ^
Hardly The increase is going to be on the order of 0.5-1 inches. According to this student seats will be 16" and the the uppermost seats will be slightly less than 18". That's not an increase of a couple inches, that's a very tiny nearly negligible increase.

Don't fall for it. This is just a distraction from the divisional alignment issue. As a previous poster said: RABBLE!

I'm not happy to hear this. I remember vendors coming into the stands last year. I believe it was during the Eastern game. It was annoying because I was sitting in an aisle seat. The aisle way kept getting backed up, blocking my view multiple times. Not to mention I don't want to have to pass someone else’s money, food and drinks during the game.
