Minnesota Wallpaper
So this is it... my first diary! Thanks to those of you who requested that I get the points necessary to post this :-).
EDIT: Since photobucket was resizing my images, I changed the links over to a new site. This will look a LOT better on your monitor!
When I saw that monuMental wouldn't be posting his amazing weekly wallpapers this season, I took it upon myself to carry the torch until his triumphant return. He has since stated that he'll be creating rivalry wallpapers, so I'll take a break on those weeks. Since I've been hijacking posts to upload my wallpapers, here's a review of the ones I've created so far for those of you who've missed them:
Western Michigan "Denard vs Broncos"
Eastern Michigan "Eagle Dove"
San Diego State "Aztec Art"
...which brings us to this week's wallpaper, Minnesota's "Brown Jug Kool-Aid"
I do sort of wish that my first diary featured a better wallpaper, but I was having a difficult time adding in a background and went with the minimilistic "monuMental's penn state" look. I've noticed a lot of people commenting on the resemblance of our current 4-0 season to those of the last couple of years. Others, however, have commented on the relative down year the B1G is having and how we have a much better chance of steam-rolling through the conference than in recent years. I'm "cautiously optimistic" myself and thought we could all enjoy a big ol' jug of Kool-Aid to celebrate our success so far. Enjoy!
PS: Here's a link to my wallpaper album, if you or I miss a posting on Monday.

I still laugh everytime I see the Eastern Michigan wallpaper...good job, I love having these for the week leading up to the game!

Same here, I LOVE the EMU wallpaper. That's a classic!

I love that avitar my friend! My parents could only afford to get me the torso of the Voltron!

EMU background truly makes me "laugh out loud." Although, being a Chicago native, the thought of more pigeons is pretty unappealing.

Quality work, can't wait for the Nebraska wallpaper.

Welcome to the diary club. Glad you are able to add your .02 every now and then. I typically don't get wallpaper done till the end of the week s oit is nice to have something early. Good job.

The EMU one is by far the best. AWESOME. I would love a drink out of the Brown Jug for sure. 'OHHHH YEAHHHH'

you have 4:3 and 16:9, but are you able to do a full raw version? the first couple weeks i think had them and i was using these for the menus of my blu-ray versions of the games and would love the higher resolution so i don't end up with blurry background images.
thanks and keep up the good work

yeah if possible I would love atleast 720p resolution on the wide, if not 1080p, but if your source images aren't that good I fully understand the lower res.
Love the work btw.

You hit it on the head... my source images mostly come from google images as I don't subscribe to any of the pay-for-image sites... I'll do my best to find higher res images going forward... that's the upside to monuMental creating a lot of his own stuff from scratch- he can create the output resolution as well!

Most laptop resolutions are at least 1280x800. I would design for that. But good work

The ones I displayed in the post are resized smaller, but the links I posted are 1920x1440 for 4:3 and 1920x1200 for widescreen- I took my cues from monuMental. The link to my photobucket album has the full resolution images. Hope that helps :-).

Turns out Photobucket has been resizing my images... bastards! I'm going to look into a different image hosting site...
September 27th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
and eventually ended up posting to a hotmail skydrive account... It downsizes by default, but you can select full resolution images if you desire.
Thanks for the time and effort you put into these!

Very nice work. I think the Aztec one is really solid even though it kinda breaks the basic format you're using for the others. Keep it up!

That SDSU one is awesome. It took a second time looking at it to catch the schedule listed. Now i'm sitting here staring at it thinking I'm missing something else.
September 27th, 2011 at 12:24 AM ^
until you mentioned it. Now I'm wondering what the significance of the 'A' is...
...but I think I'm going to feel stupid once someone explains it to me.
September 27th, 2011 at 7:18 PM ^
lol... SDSU has a whole bunch of logos, a couple of which are:
and
... hence the "A"
September 27th, 2011 at 2:40 AM ^
Yeah, love the way you put the schedule in the SDSU one. Clever!

This wallpaper is good enough to replace my "Denard-Soaring-Like-An-Eagle-In-Lewans-Hands-After-The-Roundtree-Touchdown-Under-The-Lights" picture as my background. Well done, sir!

I immedietly thought: "Background? Rainbows and unicorns!"
I may be somewhat sick in the head...

MonuMental is looking at this somewhere proud of what he has inspired

EMU was definitely a classic... Keep up the good work!
