I heard from a credible source that the exact jersey in that picture was promised to J.T. Floyd, causing Braylon to get so angry that he went to the adidas factory in AufbBundesligaMeinLeben, Germania to personally urinate on each and every one as it rolled off of the nazi-themed assembly line. Then he went on that Bob Costas show with Buzz Bissinger and Will Leitch where Buzz Bissinger had to interject and tell him he was full of shit. True story. I was there, just shows you what the family values are like under DickRod.

I'd rather have the player's number on the sleave instead of the block M, but the way they ride on the shoulder pads, no one will be able to see that anyway. If I'm not mistaken, the Nike jersey had a small block M on the seam between of the collar, just above the position of the adidas logo in the above photo. On the back, are those two vents on the bottom or white triangular inserts?

If I'm not mistaken, those are numbers on the sleeve. Just the way that the picture is, the 1's make it look like it's half of a block M.

$199 is highway robbery for the jersey, though.

Can most people even tell the difference between replica and authentic jerseys? Never figured out a good reason to drop $150-200 on an authentic jersey when you are most likely going to put the jersey through hell with food stains, beer spillage, and being worn down from excessive usage.

Yes, you can definitely tell the difference between replica and authentic jerseys.  Usually the most noticeable thing being the screenprinted numbers on replicas versus actual stitched on numbers for authentics.  You are right though most people don't care but I'm a jersey collector so I'm very picky on what I'm looking for.

Pretty similar to the old stuff, but I'm not sure I like the thick number. mjvancam, I think it actually is a number on the side, not the block M. The jersey looks a little old school to me--looks like Adidas is moving back to a darker maize rather than the "highlighter maize" color, which I kind of liked (but I think most others didn't). All in all, will look about the same on the field.

Anyone know if player names will still be on the back? I am "old school" and prefer no names (the team, the team, the team) but understand that might not fly well these days with players.

Too bad that (in addition to the $199 price tag) the site selling the jersey says it will ship on 9/1/08. How is it posted on that site but Adidas' own store only has the same 5 lame items on it? If pictures of it are already out there, shouldn't they just officially release it?

Also, the item description on that site talks about jersey numbers printed on the front and back.  Are our officials jerseys going to be screenprinted rather than stitched?  For $199?  Hopefully that doesn't mean what it sounds like.

Ok, so now that we know that Adidas has not completely butchered the home jersey, what are we supposed to freak out about next?
