Looking back
.
Everyone on these very pages knows that the primary goal of THE KNOWLEDGE is to reveal the future to anxious folks
.
but, in this post, THE KNOWLEDGE shall take a look at some of the events in the recent past and identify various scenarios that could have happened
.
yes
.
but first, THE KNOWLEDGE would like to once again emphasize the power of his predictions
.
two years ago, before G. Robinson was hired as the Def Coord, THE KNOWLEDGE had revealed that the new DC would be the current DC of the Baltimore Ravens (Rex Ryan then)
.
this, of course, happened - but two years later
.
the power of THE KNOWLEDGE is so great that the prediction was done two years in advance
.
the only thing greater than the future-revealing-power of THE KNOWLEDGE is the ability to actually comprehend this power
.
yes
.
onto the main point of this post
.
most people consider that Brandon screwed up the decisions on the head coach. many believe Michigan would have been better off keeping Rodriguez as the HC, but making sure he hired Manny Diaz as the DC and not interfered with the defensive side of things
.
and, of course, Hoke was the least popular choice among fans at the time of his hiring
.
yes
.
Two things Hoke could have done to immediately unite the fanbase and provide great potential and assurance for the future are:
.
1. Hired Rich Rod as the OC instead of bringing along Borges. This would have ensured continuity in the offense, and ensured a great leap forward in production in 2011.
.
unfortunately, Hoke was against this idea, although Rich was readily available and willing to fill the OC spot
.
hence, we are left with another change in the system and subsequent dropoff in production
.
yes
.
2. Hired OSU's Tressel as the DC. This would have been a great step up for Tressel both in terms of challenge and in terms of job prestige
.
it would have been an easy sell, but Hoke was unable to pull it off
.
instead he hired Mattison, the great friend of former S&C goach Gittleson
.
while Mattison is a good NFL coach, it remains to be seen if he can adapt to the college game where spread offenses rule. Tressel would have been the better choice here
.
yes
.
Now that we have taken a look at what could have gone better, we will take a look at what the future holds in the next post
.
Hint: It is quite rosy

this was kind of like watching a washed up has-been perform in a small, club venue. this was like watching barenaked ladies performing in chicago this past summer. with less free drink tickets or people watching.

I saw Quiet Riot at a Saginaw Bar in 1993. It would be like that, no?
BTW - They were very good.
February 2nd, 2011 at 7:59 PM ^
I was a bouncer/security for Quiet Riot when they played at the Fowlerville Fairgrounds and needed some extra eyes... no sugarcoat.

You must never disparage THE_KNOWLEDGE! He knows all and shall guide the MGoFaithful to greener pastures.

I think your satire meter is broken....badly.

Where the F#$% you been... We sent up the signal, looking for the all knowing Knowledge to bring calm...
Don't leave again, we need the guiding hand for fear we spin and churn in an unending cauldron of potentially horrific scenarios.
You are the Ritalin for our ADD...
Yes.

Unfunny schtick is unfunny.
February 2nd, 2011 at 5:42 PM ^
It's over between us. We're just in different places now, going in different directions. It doesn't matter who ended it, or who's still holding on. I still want you to be happy in life, it's just not my job to make that happen anymore.
And I'm sorry, but I don't want to be friends. We need to break this clean. Let's just let the past be the past and move on.
February 2nd, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
All I can conclude from the above post is that THE KNOWLEDGE is either high on weed, has excessively inhaled solvent-based glue, or has consumed at least a fifth of hard liquor.
His previous posts were feasible. This post is beyond any possible belief.
February 2nd, 2011 at 5:56 PM ^
I thought that at least the tired nature of the schtick was saved by the completely over the top nature of the predictions. RichRod and Tressel as OC and DC? Come on, people.
I enjoyed it.
February 2nd, 2011 at 6:12 PM ^
Your tired old "prediction"-based comic routine is just that, old and tired. You are wrong more often than a weatherman, which takes some doing. You don't offer much wisdom or much new, in fact this time you offer less trhan zero.
You're like Matt Millen trying to defend his draft picks as GM of the Lions. Until you have some fact-based plausible ideas, your best bet is to simply fade away.
If you're going to predict something, tell us who's going to win the Super Bowl and what the score will be. Someone might actually care about that.
February 3rd, 2011 at 3:21 PM ^
Guys who disparage him because they have discovered through their diligent research that his predictions are often -gasp- wrong. The Knowledge is for entertainment purposes only, like the WWE. Were you similarly upset when you realized that Triple H didn't really hurt guys with his signature finishing move?
February 2nd, 2011 at 6:20 PM ^
Dear Knowledge:
1) What conference or team will RichRod coach next and will it be 3,4, or 5 yrs until he wins NC?
2) How many years will it be until Brady Hoke beats a Pac10 or SEC team in a Jan. 1 bowl game?
3) When will Michigan fanbase realize that in order to be "the leaders and the best", the team must a) be leaders, and b) be the best (not just in the Big10)?

as OC thats funny. Ever see somebody get fired at a company and come back 2 weeks later in a lesser role, na didn't think so. Tressel as DC, ha, he'd have to learn to follow rules and ncaa compliance issues.

"Ever see somebody get fired at a company and come back 2 weeks later in a lesser role..."
got a news flash for you...been happening all over the country for quite some time now

Gunther Cunningham
From wikipedia...
Under Vermeil, the Chiefs' offense exploded, but its defense struggled, resulting in the firing of Vermeil's choice of defensive coordinator, Greg Robinson. Cunningham was hired again to revitalize a defense that had finished near or at the bottom of the overall rankings since Schottenheimer and Cunningham departed.
And also the reason I didn't want GERG from day 1. Yes, it all does go in a giant cosmic circle.
February 5th, 2011 at 2:13 PM ^
...is a former USC, 49ers/Raiders player during the 80s. We were having lunch soon after Rodriguez hired GERG and I postulated that Robinson would help turn the program around in 2009. He just laughed at me and said that Robinson's Broncos and UT defenses were underperforming despite the SBs and NC. He predicted that Michigan would continue to struggle. I scoffed at him but this conversation served the purpose of implanting a seed of doubt that unfortunately grew and grew over the past two years.
Moral of the story: listen to the guy with the SB rings on his finger.

What does the Knowledge say about Leilon Willingham?

I've seen better. But I did lol, so +1.

You people disgust me, if you think that his posts aren't funny then don't read them. There is no need to just pointlessly bash The_KNOWLEDGE for the post. He was being funny and I for one enjoy all of his predictions.

Posting from the future, I can assure you that I have never will negbang THE KNOWLEDGE.
February 3rd, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
THE KNOWLEDGE = Our connection to the MGoPast. Think of him as a wise elder around the fire at night, telling tales of adventure and romance, danger and fortune
.
yes
.
his predictive powers, however, are a little rusty as of late, Mr. Boise-State-vs-Michigan-in-BCS-championship-2011
.
his value to the MGoCommunity has long since been proven. The entertainment value of THE KNOWLEDGE's posts, compared to 99% of the meatheads on this site, more then makes up for any occasions where THE KNOWLEDGE does not soar and leave all doubters in a trail of dust
.
that said, THE KNOWLEDGE might want to lay off the crystal meth a little bit before he posts any more predictions. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Negged must once again rise to his rightful place in the firmaments of heaven. THE KNOWLEDGE must soar
.
yes
