Look, lets all celebrate a victory in which we finally beat down Rick Comley and his Slapshot form of hockey, made Bryan Lerg finally NOT look like the second coming of Ken Dryden You're not a goalie, you're a sieve. You're not a sieve, you're a funnel. You're not a funnel, you're a vacuum. You're not a vacuum, you're a black hole. You're not a black hole, YOU JUST SUCK YOU JUST SUCK YOU JUST SUCK YOU JUST SUCK Summers is the key to this team. He has the potential to be the second big scoring threat this team needs if Kampfer can come back as reported allowing Summers to get back to forward. Hogan is starting to assert himself as THE goalie on this team, and Scooter F*n Vaughn finally played a physical game to compliment his skill play. Pateryn was laying out Sparty's like a E Lansing house party. Enter cowbell Go Blue! Dancing Frankenberrys in Maize jerseys, Comley embarassed, student section loud, announcer saying "You're welcome" in the third period, Chris Summers scoring, Burlon scoring on a end to end rush, Chants of "Little Brother" Especially since they gave up the first goal to State during a 5 min Michigan powerplay and then decided to dominate play the rest of the game, this may have been Michigan's best victory this year.

this may be the game we needed to break through the psychological hold Lerg had on us, a la Red Wings blowing out Patrick roy in the 2002 playoffs. We'll see tomorrow night. If we come out at MSU and can somehow put away Sparty again convincingly, could Comley start to feel some seat heat???

lerg was bad, but MSU's offense was TERRIBLE and offered lerg no help. doesn't really matter though, we crushed them and then scored again on the 2nd string sieve. probably the 2nd best game i've been to at yost where we just crushed the other team (the first being UNO last year)

Lerg certainly did not play poorly. He made some absolutely spectacular stops tonight. However, his team completely hung him out to dry. State outskated us for the entire first period and half of the second. And after all of that they got exhausted...we started holding them in their end for long stretches and just wore them down. When the d stops skating it's just a free for all for our guys. Wohlberg had a great game. I'm looking forward to seeing him playing up on the top line more. Burlon's goal was absolutely dirty. He made their d look like a pylon. Always nice to see that, but I thought his celebration was overkill. Yes it was his first career goal, but we were crushing them. Act like you've been there before, man.

Lerg's been getting absolutely no help all year - MSU's allowing 32 shots per game on average, and it's been over 50 at least twice already. MSU has a really young team - the senior class consists of the two top goalies, Crowder, one defenseman, and the career fourth-liners, and there are only three juniors (one of whom is the third-string goalie). It's going to be a rough year, but I think MSU will be back to contending for the CCHA title next year.

by outskating, do you mean tried to pull more facemasks? No chance in hell State did anything better than us for a period and a half. The one goal they got was due to a bad pass and an assist from the ref. I was down in the end zone and Michigan was on offense down there the entire game. And what the hell Burlon, celebrating his first goal ever against the michigan staters when they were being a bunch of bitches. Can't believe these kids today....

They most certainly were outskating us. They outplayed us the entire first period. I was terrified to see a repeat of last year's game at Yost. Fortunately they didn't have the legs to keep it up. As to their goal, an assist from the ref? By giving us a five minute major that we couldn't take advantage of because we didn't skate and they played an agressive box? We were on offense the first period because we had a five minute major, and the second and third periods because we wore them down. And as to Burlon, if you were in the end zone, you couldn't see his face. He was screaming in ecstasy. I really do understand it's his first career goal, but he should celebrate the scoreboard.

You're right, and when he scored, the fans shouldn't have jumped up and down yelling at the top of their lungs because they should act like they've been there before. Because you know, Michigan hockey fans are so classy on the whole anyway, like when the opponent gets a penalty and we chant every possible derogatory word out there. Ligthen up, enjoy the game, and let the players have some damn fun against their biggest rival.
