Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
This offseason was rough on my wallpaper creation. Here's the timeline:
My computer decided to die - full fail.
Worked my ass off for my company. Time and time again.
I got a promotion at work and jumped two levels with a pretty nice raise.
Spent some money to fix the aformentioned dead computer.
Got hooked on Destiny for my Xbox.
Watched the Florida game for the 10th time.
Carved out some time for creating a schedule wallpaper.
Determined...somewhat distracted by Destiny...it's only a couple games...NO...determined me.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I went into this wallpaper week with two main ideas (one to come later if I can get it done tonight). This one is pretty obvious - Michigan State loves them some "chip on the shoulder." Grumpy Mark always seems to find a way to feel disrespected and this wallpaper celebrates the Spartans' favorite snack. As always, I welcome constructive criticism and/or wallpaper ideas. Let me know what you think. I hope you all like this one. I'll finish the mobile version tonight and edit the post. Go Blue! Beat State!
EDIT: Fixed to EDT from EST, added iPhone/Mobile version.
EDIT II: This was my second idea. It's so perfectly set up. With the official "future" date only 4 days removed from the game, I went with this. Additionally, Oct. 12, 1985 was a 31 - 0 shutout of MSU with Harbaugh at the helm. Those dates are reflected in the time-circuits details. I'm happy with how it turned out. I first had this idea a while back and made the following:
That was just the beginning...I knew I wanted to do more. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED CLEANED UP FILES FOR GAMEDAY POSTERS. I WILL OBLIGE.

Greetings again, my fellow Wolverines! Last week, I was able to drop the first official wallpaper of the season in my vintage schedule wallpaper based on a schedule card from 1969. This week, I’m happy to bring you the wallpaper for our first opponent of the season, the Utah Utes.
In preparing to do this wallpaper, I did a good amount of research on the Ute people, for whom the team is named. The Ute people are also the namesake of the state of Utah, itself. The word “Ute,” in the native tongue of the Ute people, Shoshonean, means “land of the sun” or “ the high place.” The Ute people were a highly-artistic people, making all sorts of beaded jewelry for use in battle and for trade. The Ute were also some of the earliest adopters of the horse in America (reports state as early as 1580). They were fierce warriors and with the addition of horses, became excellent big game hunters, as well. They were also highly spiritual, and are credited as being the first documented (by approx. 200 years) peoples to make use of a process called “mechanoluminescence” in their ceremonies. It’s said that they would use clear quartz crystals inside of translucent buffalo hide rattles. When rattled, the friction and mechanical stress of the crystals impacting each other would create a light that would be visible through the hide rattles. They believed this was evidence that the spirits were being called to their ceremonies.
I had a lot of fun researching the Ute people and it reminded me of the excellent time I had when doing research for the CMU wallpaper. I loved learning about the Chippewa and the Ute were the same experience. That being said, I hope that we stomp them on the football field. Respect gained for their history or not, I want them crying in defeat.
The image I used for the wallpaper below is of an actual Ute Tipi (or Teepee) on file at the Library of Congress. I hope I did a job that is both respectful and artistically-sound. Let me know! As always, I appreciate constructive criticism and/or suggestions for future works. Have a wonderful day and GO BLUE!

Well, it's that time again, ladies and gentlemen - it's wallpaper season. For this season's schedule wallpaper, I went with a design based on (ok, copied from) a vintage schedule card from 1969.
I like how it turned out, but I do wish I could find an image of Harbaugh in the exact same profile as Bo from the '69 card. If you know of one (I looked around to no avail), I would be very grateful to the person who pointed me to it. I ended up choosing a picture that embodies how I hope to see Jim on the sidelines during our games - enjoying some Michigan domination. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this wallpaper. As always, I welcome constructive criticism and/or suggestions for new wallpapers. Let me know what you think. GO BLUE!
EDIT: Fixed the font with a font more like what is in the original per numerous suggestions. Thanks for the input, it looks a lot better, guys.
EDIT 2: Added mobile (iPhone 5) variation.

Mobile Version (iPhone 5) 640x1136:
Ok, so, just for fun, I'm doing a series of wallpapers based on movie posters. If you recall, last year I turned Jake Ryan into Captain America. This year I'm starting out with a remake of the Skyfall poster and featuring Jake Butt. If for no other reason than it's fun to say "Butt, Jake Butt." Anyway, I like how it turned out, but I'd love some constructive criticism and suggestions for movie posters to recreate with Michigan favorites. Enjoy!
Ok, so this was more an exercise in creating a magazine spread than me designing a wallpaper, but it occurred to me that many of you are just as crazy obsessed with Harbaugh's presence at Michigan and may enjoy it. This was a concept piece I did this week for a fictional magazine article about Jim. I did it because I'm working on building up a portfolio of various graphic design templates in order to possibly land some freelance stuff. I hope you all enjoy it. It has been sized to fit a standard HD 16:9 screen because that's what I run. As always, constructive criticism and suggestions are welcome.
