I guess Ohio State is not wearing those against us since doesn't the road team have to wear white?
It's Official: Michigan State is South Florida
Michigan State will actually wear this (HT: allinforM) when they host Michigan on October 15. The Fulmer Cup runs, the Florida Atlantic "home" and home series, replacing Sparty with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino: these were just the precursors to MSU's ultimate goal of Becoming South Florida.
Ohio State also gets the Ken-doll-in-a-hospital-for-the-criminally-insane treatment for their game against Wisconsin. At least they got the bird poop off the helmets:
In other Pro Combats released today, Stanford and Georgia are auditioning for the cover of the next White Stripes album. Navy came through pretty unscathed (history buffs/tea partiers will be likin' the "Don't Tread on Me" undershirt), as did Army. The relative normality of these uniforms has nothing to do with the Ranger division that's been camping near Portland, nor the carrier group stationed several miles off Cape Meares. Really. LSU already uses purple in its scheme so it's not like they can get much worse.
That is all.
I'd say Wisconsin since that is the bigger game...
They can wear anything they want as long as Brandon and the B1G sign off on it (maybe the game officials too, but that might be the conference part). Hopefully we say no if they ask.
Those are for the Wisconsin game. We were told previously that OSU would be in some horrible Nike construction for the Michigan game but perhaps maybe somehow this will replace that and we'll actually get to face one of our rivals this year when everybody's actually in their uniforms?
...but USF is dead on.
What the hell is that in the middle of the Ohio uniforms? Is Nightcrawler suiting up for them?
Dude in the middle is modeling the free tattoos that Nike is providing to coordinate with the new look...
The LSU uniforms are actually a bit of an improvement. I don't understand why it has been so difficulty for people to make shoulder stripes these days. The green shoulder boxes on ND's shirts were pretty much barf.
Why does Nike continue to make gloves that create the school logo by putting the hands together in that illegal hand gesture??? It makes absolutely no sense. Its like putting a baby near an electrical outlet with a paperclip in her hand. You tell her over and over not to touch the outlets but she cannot help feel curious. Its human nature! The only solution, baby proof the f-ing outlets!
I agree in that it's asking for trouble, but there was a pretty sweet picture of Gallon I think going up for a ball and the Maize block M's on his gloves were really visible. I wish I could find the screencap or something from it to show you. I flipped back the DVR to make sure I wasn't hallucinating...
but as long as they're making them, Nike should design a pair of tosu gloves that create the NCAA logo on the back while flipping the double bird. That would really be symbolic.
Would you guys feel better about (not like..."feel better") MSU's uniforms if they replaced the gold with silver or white, you know, colors actually in their color scheme.
MSU have gold in their unis? The design is cool, but make the pants white and the all the gold to white.
I think they're going for Bronze. They added a bronze accent to the jerseys when they went all "300" with their logos and stuff. Which on a side note, I still can't find funny enough that they constantly play the "SPARTANS!" and other clips from that homo-erotic movie with no sense of irony or shame. I guess people in glass houses (Pop Evil) can't cast stones though.
If they're going for bronze, then make it more obviously BRONZE, not GOLD. In any case, I wonder what it would look like as white instead of gold. Can't possibly be worse than that abomination.
Get Behind Me Satan!
Ok the glove thing has officially gotten old...and when did wearing your school colors go out of style?
for unleashing this tidal wave of so called "creative Marketing grads" on society with all their "creativity" just for the sake of being "creative". God dammit!
What these guys (and gals) obviously didn't learn at the next level was this:
"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should".
It's like cranberries. How many effing juices do we really need with goddamned Cranberries in them?!!
It doesn't take very long and you realize "Holy shit where are we? What are we doing? We've lost our way."
You can tell that people who like Nike Pro Combat unis are dumb because they get people on the facebook pages putting up "first" comments.
Must be so hard to backfire through life like Michigan State.
It's funny, but the Nike cosplay stuff might have actually jumped the shark this year through no fault of their own-- it's UnderArmour and the Maryland nonsense that has really began to turn the media against the hype machine. I wouldn't be surprised if Nike tries something different within the next two years as the fad is beginning to get old.
In other news, what's with the OHIO RealTree undershirt? They goin' huntin' in a treestand with Katzenmoyer or something?
Wow Ohio might have a tuff time selling those jerseys. And why are those two guys holding hands?
I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.
Indeed. I love you.
the holding hands was my doing. Photoshop and all.
Wow, and they thought our night game uniforms were bad...
Yeah dude. No.
ok; I liked the helmets, actually, but I did not realize how much these unis do, indeed, look like South Florida's. The numerals are weird and I'm not a black pants fan.
So much so that the Pac-12 is telling Oregon when and how to flash their symbol.
and it all makes perfect Sparty sense:
Recruits wanna wear alternate jerseys = it makes me mad we can't rock alternate jerseys everyonce in a while.
These things are absolutley horrid, but they do hold some signifigant historical value. MSU did wear Gold/Bronze helmets in 1940 and 1946.
1940 - Michigan loses one game, by one point, and Harmon wins the Heisman.
1946 - Michigan beats MSU 55-7. Michigan then goes on to win back to back National Championships in 1947 and 1948
Well I'm all in favor of Sparty in Gold!
