(Hit Play)

This was a triumph. I'm making a note here:

"HUGE SUCCESS!"

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

Aperture Science:
We do what we must because we can.
For the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead.

7669891

But there's no sense crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake
And the science gets done and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive.

6902848309_035d9df87c

I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart and killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you.

6449800911_d7ee8c596c

Now these points of data make a beautiful line

MIN/G PTS PPG FG% 3PT% FT% REB PF AST TO BLK STL
36.1 1227 14.8 0.433 0.348 0.744 214 53 156 94 13 31

And we're out of beta we're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD I got burned think of all the things we learned
For the people who are still alive.

(I was all like…)

Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa -
blackmesa

THAT WAS A JOKE. HA HA, FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great:
It's so delicious and moist.

The_Cake_Is_A_Lie_by_KingdomOfTheBlind

(But now I'm all like…)

Look at me still talking when there's science to do.
When I look out there it makes me GLaD I'm not you.
I've experiments to run there is research to be done
On the people who are still alive

glenn-robinson4d1312166923-mitch-mcgary-bgh_large1_thumbdsc_07401_thumb

And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing science and I'm still alive.
P.S. I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.
P.P.S. While you're dying I'll be still alive.
Final thought: And when you're dead I will be still alive.

Still alive.

It's the song they play

It's the song they play during the credits after beating the game Portal, which was a game that came with like every PC around the same time Vista came out. The words are that of the final boss thanking you for beating her/it.

My 60-year-old father played (and loved) Portal. I ruined Thanksgiving by introducing him to it.

I'm 23 and am not much of a computer gamer, so I think this game flew under my radar. Is it one I should play?

Also, can I play it on a mac?

Definitely worth a

Definitely worth a playthrough.  Both games are kind of short, at least for the main campaign, so see if you can snag it when it is on sale on steam (Portal 1 might be cheap enough already though).  I believe they are both on Mac, or at least Portal 1 should be by this point.

The Portal series is like the

The Portal series is like the computer game equivalent of graphic novels for people like me who don't always have the time or dedication to read through a full-length book - they are short, captivating, and feature wonderful stories & artwork.  And, to be honest, playing Portal is a unique experience from pretty much any other game I've ever played.  It makes you kinda scratch your head & marvel at what's actually possible in the gaming medium.

10/10, would recommend.

Its on 360 as well.  In the HL Orange box collection that came out a few yrs ago.  Same with Portal 2, but that was sold as a stand alone.

Definitely worth a try!

I want to add my full endorsement of these games (Portal & Portal 2) to anyone who hasn't played them. Brilliant concept, challenging puzzles, good writing/sense of humor, and no (real) violence. I loved playing them and felt some true satisfaction in completing many of the tougher rooms. IMHO, 2 of the best games in recent memory.
