The Future of Michigan Football (revisions made)

With last year being Rich Rodriguez' first year with the blue and maize you cant really blame him or be mad about the dismal record of 3-9 with no bowl elegibility. after all, new coach and new place do not combine to be a good combination. with his steller recruiting, getting 4 and 5 star prospects such as Tate Forcier and Je'Ron Stokes, i do not think it will be long before you see michigan back at the top of the rankings. and lets face it, we were ganna have a bad year anyway with offensive starters Henne, Hart, Manningham, and the #1 pick Jake Long gone, along with linebacker Shawn Crable (even though he esentially costs us the 2006 OSU game with that late hit AND blocked th wrong guy on the field goal that made us lose to Appalachian State). I think that Rich Rodriguez is a nice fit though. although we dont really have a dual threat QB he can obvioulsy get one and even if we dont Tate Forcier will be a good starter next year (assuming Nick Sheridan starts this year) thats assuming of course. from the things ive read today it looks like Forcier will be starting though. guess well have to wait and see. The 2010 recruiting class is even better than the 09 one im thinking this year wil be the .500+ year and NEXT year well all get what we wanted. The Rose Bowl or the National Championship. and Maybe even finally beating OSU. and yes Tate Forcier is a dual threat but hes more Pro style than dual threat -The Young Blue and Maize Fan

I agree. I'm not quite sure how Tate and Denard don't qualify as "Real dual threat QBs," but most of this post hasn't provided any thoughtful content. I also am not quite sure where you think that we'll be playing for the National Championship in 2 years.. its not that easy. This isn't NCAA Football 2009.

I feel like you probably don't pay attention to all the other teams' recruiting affairs, and therefore are biased on how good our recruits are relative to powerhouse teams.

I also noticed the little blurb about the 2010 class being better than the 2009 class--as in ALREADY better, according to the OP. Let me just say that I disagree. Vehemently. And that this class WON'T, in the end, be better or as good as 2009.

I think some of the higher ranked recruits are waiting to see how UM does this season. All of the coaches from other teams are telling them that UM is doomed, and that RR will fail in the Big Ten. Some of these posts make it sound like the recruiting is almost over, and you have to keep in mind that these guys don't sign until Feb next year. When UM starts beating up on their opponents this year, a renewed confidence will build nationally. This will help to sway the guys that like to hold out until the end. Of course, the guys who like the drama will wait as long as possible. This way they get to take more free trips, and eventually sit in front of a table with hats on it on National TV. How is the barking sphincter still able to post here? He is obviously a troll, but I guess his blathering uncoherency is deemed good enough so far... Is it because his diary that slammed UM got so many responses? That thread reminded me why I don't post on the freep/mlive any more.

There is no freakin' WAY that Nick Sheridan starts this year. Threet was a possible/probable beginning of the season start, but he's long gone. No way Suicidal Kitty is going to see the field unless Forcier goes down (keeping fingers crossed).

Forcier goes down, you have to believe that DRob will see the field first. At the very least, DRob is an excellent runner. Sheridan is neither an excellent runner, nor an excellent passer. I can't believe that he sees the field unless both of them are down. (Praying for a QB to step up and stay healthy!)

You guys realize the OP is like 12 years old right? Lay off him. Brian, I think you are probably already aware/working on this, but here is a case study on why Diary entries should be a right for people with some track record, not a privilege for all.

Don't take it too hard kid, almost everyone here follows Michigan football obsessively to the point that it's unhealthy. You are probably much happier than many of us. Now run along, live your life!!

I think we go 8-4 9-3 at best 7-5 at worst in'09 2010: 11-1 or 10-2 maybe 13-0? (see lloyds third year) But I'm saying we go to BCS bowl for sure. 2011: 13-0 BCS champs; All the right players; stacked with QBs (Tate Forcier JR Denard Robinson JR Devin Gardner SO) Now It's our turn to unleash hell on Ohio State. Enter the Michigan dynasty 2012: 13-0 BCS champs; The first back to back NC for UM since 47-48. Senior QBs Forcier and Robinson shine. A ready Devin Gardner will step up. 2013: 12-1 Rose Bowl champs; A close loss to PSU prevents us from a 3-peat. Devin Gardner wins the Heisman 2014: 12-1; A heatbreaker in the BCS championship game in my freshamn year lol. 2015 : 13-0 BCS champs. A two-year hiatus but the BCS title is ours again. Revenge on team that beats us in BCS title game in '14 2016: 13-0 BCS champs; Back-to-Back National titles for the Big Blue and an astounding 4 Big Ten titles out of 5 years for RR. Heisman trophy goes to WR Mike Laskowski:) 2017: 13-0 BCS champs; Laskowski's senior season not to different from Soph and Junior. First ever 3-peat of BCS champs in College Football history. Heisman trophy goes to M. Laskowski (second ever two-time heisman winner) Do not lose to OSU until 2019. 8 year winning streak makes rivalry ours and Big Blue fans love it. This is how its gonna play out from '09-'17 GO BLUE!

I think you're underrating Wilkins by giving him an "eh-plus" - by all accounts I've heard (from recruiting people, so take that as reliable as you want) he should be a 4* on Rivals when they do redo their rankings (Farrell has said as much in interviews), and apparently once people starting getting more film on him they really started to like him. Obviously, it's all recruiting talk, so take it for what its worth, but it's worth putting out there that he may be better than he's getting credit for.
