There seems to be a lot more doubling up on numbers than before. I understand if the two people who have the same number are on opposite sides on the ball there is no issue, but that isn't always the case. Biggest foreseen problem: Marell Evans and Boubicar both are #33. They could likely both be on the field at the same time, but not if they are both 33. Plus they are both young, so I would expect one of them to change their number next year or the year after, especially if they are both starters.

In college, kids get pretty much any number they want. So I don't really pay attention to "WR's should wear #'s in the 80's" stuff. Also, players change position in college - Alan Branch went from a TE to a DL, hence the number in the 80's. Mamarr Woodley went from LB to DE, hence the 56.

It is not absurdly uncommon for defensive and offensive players to share a number. The only one that I see being a potential conflict is the one WolvinLA highlighted.
