Fan Satisfaction Index: Air Force Survey

Submitted by OneFootIn on

In our quest to track fan satisfaction this season, the week three survey is up.

Take this week’s survey here: https://goo.gl/forms/zULwcq077an9OvEI2

One of the interesting puzzles this week: Does having difficulty beating an inferior team the week after having difficulty beating an even more inferior team make you feel better or worse about things? Did you see enough this past weekend to give you more hope for the season?

Results post will go up Wednesday morning.

Wish we had that week 1 data because I would have been in the 90s, but it has been a steep slide ever since. I feel the Special Teams had a great day at returns obviously but coverage on Kickoffs was incredible too, and FGs were automatic. Hart seems to botch a punt or two late in games consistently but will improve. Defense was good With an occasional play against them. Nothing to worry about there! Then we come to the offense. I don't get it. I feel like there is push in the line but then holes close way to quickly and anything inside is hard yards. Outside has been effective but we feel very left handed this year which makes sense but is easier to scheme for. Same thing goes for QB. His stat lines don't look bad, but are they effective? Our red zone percentage says the run and pass aren't living up to even their floor. Something needs to break through or this will be one of those 4-0 years that suddenly takes a turn and never revives. I'm not looking forward to Penn State anymore. Every week will be a battle to win with this offense.

Improvements in every facet of the offense going forward will be important.  As good as our defense is, if they are worn out by the end of games because the offense can't sustain drives, it will be much tougher to win some games- even Purdue, MSU and others.

I felt better about the Air Force game than I did about Cincinnati. But I actually feel slightly worse about the season. The AF win was better but it did seem to solidfy some of the struggles on O and show that they weren't necessarily just a young team coming out flat in the first home game

and the offense, punt team, and KO return team have been disappointing.  I actually expected to be undefeated going into the game (not a believer in the PSU hype), but am tempering those expectations. Not all that concerned about Purdue, but I am worried about the MSU game.  If the Oline can't handle basic Dline twists how are they going to handle double A gap blitzes? Plus you know State will play their best game of the year against us.  Other games of concern for me are PSU, Maryland, and Wisky before the game.

OSU does not look unbeatable, but most of the rest of our opponents look better now than pre-season.  Although they have a pretty easy schedule, I am surprised at how Sparty looks, and I am much more a believer in PSU than at the beginning of the year.  Indiana, Purdue, Maryland and Wiscy all look better too.

I know there might be some "body blow" but what if Air Force beats San Diago State this weekend? Wonder how we will feel then? mmm I love some college football.

70 / 100 for me again.

Defense and Special teams are awesome. Offense was a stinker AGAIN. Still think there is time to figure it out.

Overall 3-0 is everything I've ever wanted from this out of conference schedule. And no DL/OL injuries from the Air Force game! Whew and knock on wood.

Moderately happy with the season overall.  I mean, we're 3-0.

Quite unhappy with the AF game.  This was our last real chance to work out the kinks, and we didn't even get close to accomplishing that.  Right side of the line still a mess, Speight's accuracy is still pretty awful.  And while I'm grateful we didn't lose anybody to cut blocks, our starting RB and 2nd best WR got dinged.  I can't recall feeling worse after a win since JH was hired.

Special teams and defense are probably good enough to carry us through the Purdue game and give the offense additional time to adjust. The bye week after Purdue will allow additional time for growth and development .

A lot of fans are very impatient about this team, but many players are not far removed from high school graduation! JH is satisfied (publicly) with the progress this young team is making. The coaches will work on the issues (red zone conversions, for one) and we should see improvements in these areas on Saturday.

Personally, it is not the young guys I'm disappointed with.  Black and DPJ have had growing pains but have been better than expected.  Same with Hill.

It is the guys I thought would have grown over the last season that are disappointing.  Guys like Speight and Crawford are killing drives with boneheaded mistakes we cannot afford.  Some of them could learn from the work ethic and drive we're seeing from the youth!
