CC: Age of Coaching Candidates (as of August 2015)

I want the best coach on the list! If the best does not want to coach here, then go to the second best, and down the list of top coaches until we find the best coach who will want to coach here. No more average  Brady Hoke type coaches!

So it seems that the bulk of the accomplished guys are in their 50s, with some in their late 40s and some early 60s.  What I think it shows is that the days of getting a Bo Schembechler and having him for two decades are basically over.  If you can get a decade out of a guy that's good.

I'm surprised by some of those ages.  I guess that shows my age.

I really don't think youth should be much of a factor.  Start thinking about the next 10 years, not 20.  A candidate shouldn't become undesirable just because he's in his mid-to-late 50s.

You better pray he takes both of his coordinators too...because they're 2 of the best in the business. Roman and Fangio.

In fact, I'd be worried to have Harbaugh without either one of those guys.

with rumors swiirling about Harbaugh right now its interesting that he might become a candidate again for M.  I think Harbaugh would actually be the right fit for Michigan providing he & the administration can somehow harness their egos and come to terms.
