The Blockhams in "Twin City Socks"

TWIN CITY SOCKS

Ahh yes, the socks.  We've heard of their mystical powers and, uh, comfort.  And we've read about their more-valuable-than-gold status within Schembechler.  So of course Tom needed a pair.

I'd like to thank a certain contributor who was instrumental in putting this thing together and wished to remain anonymous.  Happy with the collaboration.

On Thursday Tom discusses the upcoming Sparty game with his little brother.
And then next week we'll unleash the very first...

That's right-- later today I'll be sending out a very special Blockhams strip and some of the more famous members of the Michigan universe will be writing the words for it.  To keep it simple, each contributor will be asked to supply 10 words or less to complete the already finished artwork, and I presume that the results should be entertaining to say the least.

Those taking part in the first ever Caption Challenge include:  ESPN's Tom Van Haaren aka TomVH (duh!), JustCoverBlog's JamieMac, MLive's Kyle Meinke, The Wolverine's Tim Sullivan, Tremendous's Steve Lorenz (the artist formerly known as Aquaman), The Hoover St. Rag's Craig D. Barker, Maize n Blue Nation's Brad Muckenthaler,  Midnight Maize's own The Shredder, and some guys named Seth and Brian that you might have heard of.

I'll work them all up, and we may even have a poll.  The winner will receive a free
all-inclusive trip with Charlie Blockham to Ms. Katzenmoyer's office. Stay tuned!

THE BLOCKHAMS™ runs (typically) every Tuesday here at MGoBlog,
and at least every Thursday on its official home page.  Also, don't forget to
check out Friday Roughs, a spontaneous low-end comic based on trending
Michigan events, available on Twitter and Facebook every Friday.

Maybe not "dig through a dumpster" comfortable.  But they're pretty sweet.

And the "fill in the caption" contest makes me think of MGoProfiles of yester-year. I thought we were going to get an occassional one of those over last summer. Sigh.

Six Zero: any chance you'd start a weekly caption contest on the blog, a'la the New Yorker? I'm a lifelong comic fan, and I've always loved the New Yorker's captions for their wit and novelty. I feel like bringing that platform to the site would be a natural fit, considering user content and participation is the bedrock here.

I've been reading this blog for a pretty long while; its content is unique, has depth, and qualifies it among the best uber-fan sites in college sports. A big part of that is user content, which has been expertly curated via different platforms. The Board, the Diaries, and the reward of a bump to the front page keeps users active and interested. It creates a self-policing policy with respect to the quality of the blog, and I tip my hat to all the folks who make the content so enjoyable.

I'd love to see the wit of your MGoBloggers given a natural new forum for participation. See, http://www.newyorker.com/humor/caption for an appropriate formula for setting this up, if you're interested.

In any event, I enjoyed today's comic. You're obviously a talented artist, and the blog is enriched from your content. I had no idea about Twin City socks; I'll have to google that.

Perfect! A very creative design and it reminds me about the naturlægemidler. A lot of design are really good and beautiful. A lot of people nowadays are having a creative hand and how I wish to have a talented hand and it reminds me also about an interesting information about the kosttilskud.
