The Blockhams in "FOURTH OF JULY"
FOURTH OF JULY
(Click the image to view full size)
I dar e say this one has it all: Summer fun, meat cooked
with fire (always a good thing), quality time with family, and...
Condiments.
Happy Fourth of July everyone-- have a fun and safe holiday with those you
love the most. And be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy as Americans,
among them the freedom to follow the finest football program in
the history of the sport. Go Blue and God Bless America.
On Thursday we'll check in with Desmond and his quest for redheads.
THE BLOCKHAMS™ runs (typically) every Tuesday here at MGoBlog,
and at least every Thursday on its official home page. Also, don't forget to
check out Friday Roughs, a spontaneous low-end comic based on trending
Michigan events, available on Twitter and Facebook every Friday.
Follow THE BLOCKHAMS™ on Twitter at @theblockhams, and don't forget to
LIKE THE BLOCKHAMS™ on Facebook at www.facebook.com/theblockhams.
This is what is known in the legal profession as a "red herring" (pardon the pun). You don't put ketchup on hot dogs, so this wasn't even a true choice.

Not my thing, but my eight-year-old swears by it.
If people "don't put ketchup on hot dogs," why do hot dog vendors have ketchup as one of their two main condiments?
Anyway, this is possibly my favorite of the Blockhams strips so far. I knew where it was going, but that made it even more enjoyable.
This is not a choice. My Chicago-born wife won't even offer it to people when we grill - I knew there was a good reason that I loved her...
Nice job Six Zero. Mgoblog has a cartoonist better than most syndicated cartoonists. All that's missing now is an advice column and an mgoweatherperson and I'd be all set for my daily info needs.
...reprises his Game Day Weather series this football season, mgoweather is your mgoweatherperson.
Brian answers his Mailbag and plenty of MGoUsers offer their own unsolicited advice, so there's that.
I'm pretty sure MGoWeather is female.
...when I was posting and didn't bother to evaluate. Bad call on my part.
Definitely a "her" and definitely a fantastic weatherperson. Her ability to get it right, by the hour, was fantastic. She was about the only person calling for no significant rain during UTL and by God she was absolutely right. My wife and I make the drive each week up from Cleveland and we plan our tailgate/game day wardrobe around her predictions!
Beaten to the punch by a few, therefore, meme
makes the contrast in decision so much more clear.
Heinz needs to bring this stuff back
But why is Bump wearing a blue shirt? Did he lose a bet?
People like to wear red, white, and blue on the 4th. Even little brother is American.
"Nobody--and I mean NOBODY--puts ketchup on a hot dog"--Dirty Harry Callahan
Coney dogs or GTFO.
Have a safe lunch. Use condiments.
especially when in chicago, if only to annoy people who are aggressively normative about stupid things.
Con someone explain to me why one would get a bug up their ass about someone else putting ketchup on a hotdog?
To hell with Chicago hotdogs, ketchup on hotdogs is delicious.
Chicago hot dogs are indeed very very good. And for the record, I'll only put ketchup on a hot dog ONLY if it also has mustard. Ketchup by itself, to me, is gross. Only when balanced with mustard will I allow it on my hot dog.
Unless there is chili on the hotdog, in which case mustard is the only option. And really, who needs another condiment besides chili anyway?
If there's chili...no ketchup. At all. And agreed, if you got chili, what else is there? (Besides onions and extra mustard...)
Agreed. I like ketchup on my hot dogs along with enough onions that I can't see the dog.
The Corn Dog destroys any variety of hot dog, homemade obviously.
It's an odd combination to us in the States, but relatively common in Spain. Matters of taste are by definition subjective. So go ahead, put ketchup on your hotdog. Or mustard. Or relish. Or chili.
Just no "catsup". It doesn't make you sound more educated. It just makes you sound like a tool.
I'm assuming relish is experiencing its typical inferiority complex for not even being part of the conversation.
Would that be sweet relish? Or dill relish?
There are a few things I won't do when Michigan plays Ohio and MSU...that respective week, I will not wear red/green at all, I won't use anything that is predominately those colors ex: coffee mugs/cups. I'm glad I am not alone with these quirky things!
I'm very conscious of the color of underwear I have on during those weeks, too. I have 7 pair of blue boxer briefs specifically for those game weeks.
helped me finally explain to my wife the difference between my level of fandom and actual psychosis.
