he already is a Michigan Wolverine.
(At least, that's what my pamphlet said when I enrolled. Edit: Also, the student section chants "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine", not "Hey players it sure must be great to be a Michigan Wolverine." We are all Wolverines.)
