With some action (finally) on the Michigan commitment front, it's an EXCITING update.

Big Ten Recruiting Class Rankings
Rank School # of Commits Rivals 250 Scout Average ESPN 150
1 Ohio State 9 2 3.44 3
2 Michigan 4 1 3.25 2
3 Michigan State 4 1 2.75 1
4 Notre Dame 3 0 3.67 1
5 Indiana 8 0 1.25 0
6 Minnesota 2 1 2.00 1
7 Wisconsin 2 1 2.00 0

9 Northwestern 1 0 1.00 0
10 Iowa 0 0 0 0
11 Penn State 0 0 0 0
12 Purdue 0 0 0 0

I'll only make charts for the teams that currently have commits. Rivals 250 means that a given prospect is on the Rivals 250 to Watch, and ESPN 150 means that a prospect is on the Watch List for the ESPNU 150. Scout ratings are on the 5-star scale.

Actually a pretty highly rated kid is going to join Memphis this year a year early.. Brindza has quite the leg and Mich was pursuing him. Does anyone know if he was getting the preferred walk on talk or were they going to actually offer him.

I hate State, but I have to say they might have a better class so far (obviously only because of Thomas). Those 1 stars will probably both be 3 stars in the next ranking. Hopefully Conway gets his 4th star.

Our class will likely be smaller than MSU's, but it will be far stronger. They got the Lawrence Thomas commitment, but we are in on many more high profile recruits than they are. Most of the kids that are considering us and MSU will sign with us, or a third school. I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Their class will likely be a lot like last year's: one 5-star kid and a bunch of 3 stars who picked MSU over Northwestern, Purdue or Ball State.

One guy does not a class make, however. There's a reason two of their guys are unranked, while ours have three stars. I'm not saying their guys will end up a 2-stars (or lower), but our guys are certainly a bit higher on the pecking order than theirs. When re-ranks come out, there's a good chance MSU passes us up, unless Conway or Hollowell gets a solid 4-star rating.

Don't tell State fans we have the same number of in-state commits. They still think getting a whole bunch of three star kids from the state of Michigan will lead to domination.
