Big Ten Recruiting Class Rankings 11-14-10
A new commit for the Wolverines means this hits the front page. Action since last rankings:
11-12-10 Michigan gains commitment from Dallas Crawford. Purdue gains commitment from Akeem Hunt.
11-14-10 Penn State gains commitment from Anthony Alosi. 70espn NR rivals NRscout.
Rivals and Scout have updated their rankings over the past couple weeks, so there are some shakeups in there.

Lots of movers and shakers among the future Wolverines, on top of picking up a commit from CB Dallas Crawford. Demetrius Hart was described as "the best RB I've seen this year" by Barry Every... then Every's Rivals scouts proceeded to rank him the #5 RB in the country. He's up to the top 4-star, however. Everybody else is a faller, as Chris Rock goes from 5.7 to 5.6, Greg Brown and Tony Posada go from 5.7 to 5.5. Rivals still has Jack Miller at 5.5, about which LOL.

All 3 sources have us at a higher class than MSU....Is a jump coming soon?
November 14th, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
Michigan State's class still has the numbers advantage, so until Michigan gets a little closer in overall volume, MSU will stay ahead.
I had been planning to have the Wolverines jump MIchigan State with their next commit, but Rivals crushed our guys' rankings in their update, so I couldn't justify it with the lower total numbers quite yet.
November 14th, 2010 at 3:24 PM ^
Yah, no problem. I wasn't asking for a jump, just curious. Hopefully we can bag up a few tese next few weeks.
November 14th, 2010 at 5:14 PM ^
For the update and for sticking to your formula. Passing Sparty in both this years recruiting class and next year on the field is inevitable anyway.
November 14th, 2010 at 3:30 PM ^
Has there been any news about him? Are the coaches still sold on Rock for this class? While I generally don't speculate on recruits, I have honestly seen nothing positive written about him since the season started.
November 14th, 2010 at 3:35 PM ^
I'm sure the coaches see him as someone with the physical attributes who just needs time and coaching. With Breyer coming in, though, I doubt there too worried about him playing much before his junior season. You're right about recruit speculation, though. Dustin Keller and JJ Watt were two star recruits. Darelle Revis was a three star recruit. A lot of guys peak when they're still in high school, thus they're five star recruits yet their careers are on the decline by the time they're 22 or 23. The coaches must feel that he's no where near his peak yet.
November 14th, 2010 at 3:59 PM ^
Had to think twice about ND being listed.
Hopefully UM keeps up its quality recruits as it goes forward. Note UM has the highest quality commits for its low # of commits thus far

I just checked ESPN and see what Tim sees.
November 14th, 2010 at 4:33 PM ^
Is there a reason Rivals' scale goes from 5.0 to 6.1? It seems intentionally nonsensical.
November 14th, 2010 at 5:18 PM ^
I couldn't tell you. It is indeed a very weird way to stratify their rankings.
November 14th, 2010 at 7:17 PM ^
also judges figure skating?
November 14th, 2010 at 5:35 PM ^
Should be interesting to see if any more big-time recruits go blue now that the team has won a couple more games. Thanks for the update Tim.
November 14th, 2010 at 5:37 PM ^
This might not be the place for this question, but what is the update on Byron Moore? Seems like it'd be great to pick him up, but I can't find much on the interwebz about where he stands. I think Rivals' last update is that he re-committed to USC in 2009. Not helpful.
November 14th, 2010 at 7:09 PM ^
Should we be worried that we only have 13 commits so far? Or are we waiting on commits from bigtime recruits and have other lesser recruits in the bag if we want them?
November 14th, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
Honestly 13 right now is fine with the recruits we are going after. But with us sitting on a winning season and RR seemingly safe the recruits should be less worried about michigan
November 14th, 2010 at 8:55 PM ^
I always thought highly of Penn State (in terms of being one of the better B10 programs)
Does the low number of commits mean that the general feeling is that Joe Pa is on his way out after this season?
Any other specific reasons for this? Or are they expected to close out with a flurry come NSD
November 15th, 2010 at 8:48 AM ^
After Crawford Friday and Saturdays win I have a real good feeling about recruiting. Instead of wondering if we are going to get the good recruits, the question is now about who and when.
November 15th, 2010 at 9:04 AM ^
but for all the "MSU is ruling the State" drivel, their recruiting doesn't exactly back that up. It seems RR is holding his own, even with our struggles on the win/loss ledger. Zettel would be another huge pickup that would contradict the MSU finger wagging.
