The Beilein Effect

Submitted by Chrisgocomment on
When the Milwaukee Bucks picked Joe Alexander #8 in the recent NBA draft Michigan fans must have been pleasantly surprised.  I know I was.  Brian wrote a post about this before, but the fact that Joe Alexander was drafted so high can partly be attributed to our John Beilein.  Sure, Alexander put the work in, but Beilein molded him into the star he became.  Naturally no one in the MSM during draft day said boo about Beilein when Alexander was picked, rather touting ass-hat Bob Huggins as the mentor.  But what it comes down to is Beilein's knack for pulling diamonds from the rough.  He takes unheralded and hard working kids and molds them for his system...the end result is always success.  His track record proves as much.  I think Michigan Basketball will have a resurgence, seeing Alexander drafted that high almost guarantees it.

Yeah, they could also stand to get rid of the seats, if they haven't done so already, especially in the upper level. They were somewhat maize-colored back in 1989. Now they're just brown.
